In memory of the heroic father Liu Zhengchang

Written by Liu Hong, coordinated by Zheng Huaisheng, produced by Guan Zhongjian, and proofread by Han Shuilin.

Liu Zhengchang was born in 1923 in Wuwei, Anhui. In March 1938, Liu Zhengchang joined the army and served as a soldier and squad leader in the reconnaissance platoon of the special service company of the 7th Regiment of the 4th Detachment of the New Fourth Army (the predecessor of the 7th Company of the 183rd Regiment), and was later promoted to the commander and instructor of the 9th Company of the 10th Regiment of the 2nd Division (the predecessor of the 181st Regiment), the deputy battalion commander and battalion commander of the 3rd Battalion, the chief of staff and deputy commander of the 182nd Regiment, the chief of staff, deputy division commander and division commander of the 61st Division, and the deputy commander of the 21st Army.

A first-class people's hero in East China. He died in the line of duty in 1976. Today is the 40th anniversary of Liu Zhengchang's son, Liu Hong, who remembered his father's death.

Forty years of winter to spring, every Qingming is always like this drizzle, through the vast years, flying over the mountains, reminiscing the starting point. Liu Zhengchang hurriedly completed his life road and slept in the mountains, that day, we were sad and speechless, at that moment, it seemed like yesterday.

We know from childhood that Dad's name is always associated with a valiant warrior, but what is less known is that he also has his own past. It was in the years before the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, forty years ago, forty years ago, he left his hometown of Wuwei County, leaving the small village of Shijian that he raised.

In the ancient poem, it is said: "Inaction is on the wrong path", the Chinese nation is in a predicament, and the road to salvation is full of misguided paths. However, in the face of the wrong path, my father resolutely chose to join the army and embarked on the front line of the War of Resistance against Japan.

The battlefield was rained with bullets and gunsmoke, and Dad was always at the forefront. He joined the party, made meritorious contributions, was injured, and was in distress. He is a brave soldier in the rain of bullets and bullets, and he is an excellent officer who has experienced nine deaths.

They drove out the Japanese bandits and fought for the republic. In the Battle of Menglianggu, the 74th Division was destroyed, and the Northern Jiangsu Corps in Yilin fought with a bright sword. In the Huaihai Campaign, Huang Wei was fought hard, and the liberation of Hangzhou pointed to Zhoushan.

Thirty-two days after the five-star red flag was raised, Dad's troops were rushing to the beach on Dengbu Island. Dengbu Island, Dengbu Island, the enemy and the enemy meet in this narrow road. The officers and men of our army rushed to the beach and landed like a bamboo, and the enemy troops defending the island were in a desperate situation and fought against the water, and the enemy's counterattack on the sea, air, and ground was like a storm crashing on the shore.

Bitter fighting, bitter fighting, still bitter fighting, our army's offensive seemed to overturn the sea. After two days and nights of fighting, blood flowed like a river, several kilometers of tug-of-war, and corpses were like mountains. Our army has no danger to rely on, the ammunition is exhausted, the time and place are favorable to defend the enemy, and the reinforcements are continuous.

Is it going to become the second in Guning, and the fiasco of Kinmen will be repeated again? In a hurry, a choice must be made. Division Commander Hu Wei made a decision immediately, and his father was sent to the command post.

He saw tears gleam on the face of the division commander. The division commander clasped his father's hands: "You stay covered, and you must hold on until tomorrow." An order is the trust of life, and the troops who land on the island must turn the danger into safety.

Holding hands together counts as the difference between life and death, and the warrior who sticks to it can only use one hand to the sky. Hopefully, this isn't the movie "The Assembly," and hopefully, this isn't Gunningtou Beach. Dad didn't hesitate for a moment, and said firmly: "Don't worry, teacher."

I am a member of the Communist Party. In the dark night, Dad and the others stood majestically, silently saying goodbye to their comrades-in-arms as immobile as a mountain, and the boats on the beach quietly entered the water, quietly exiting the battlefield and sailing to the sea.

On the empty position, the charging horns rose one after another, and the fire of the feint burned half of the sea and sky. As the gunfire thinned out, the morning sun tore through the darkness of the night.

The troops attacking the island miraculously withdrew from the battlefield, and the enemy woke up from a dream, but it was too late. At the last moment, Dad led the last squad, and after searching the battlefield again, they jumped into the last boat.

This last boat breaks the waves, sending a ray of morning light onto the beach. The comrades-in-arms rushed over in surprise, and the father shouted: "Little Baochang, bring the wine!" ”

This shout is full of pride, and this pride is righteous and cloudy. This is our father, who has been through a hundred battles, and walked out of the smoke of war with nine deaths. Of the 21 heroic banners of the 12 Army, he had the honor of being one of them.

The Republic awarded him the title of First-Class People's Hero of East China, which allowed him to live and die with the August 1st Army Banner. Thinking about it today, Dad is lucky, a bitter child met the fate of history.

The flames of war stained his era red, and the pace of the times led him forever forward. In the Korean War, he led his troops to fight, and on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, he led troops to quell the rebellion. Yungang Grottoes left his footprints, and there was also his smile under Maiji Mountain.

We will never forget that day in 1976, on the way to the battlefield of Chencanggu, Dad never crossed the Great Scattered Pass. We will never forget the day 40 years ago, when Dad said goodbye to us, and he died alone.

He fell in the valley, and he lay among the brilliant flowers. The August 1st military flag was lightly covered on his body, reflecting his serene face.

Mrs. Liu Zhengchang's love has never faded, rainbow light our dear mother, have you ever seen it: we accompanied my father to see you and tell his story; In the first days of losing her lover, grief made my mother cry dry; Like a dream, like an illusion, like the sky falling; But Mom was not struck down by grief, even though the years had made her green silk gray; She knew that although her father was gone, his spirit was still there, and the story was not over; The five children can no longer lose their mother, and from then on, the mother is the strength of the family; After just over a month of mourning, my mother resolutely lived a normal life; daily life, study and work, sweeping and laundry, shopping and cooking; Rain or shine, day after day, wearing the stars and the moon year after year; Mom is so brave, she meets every difficulty with a tenacious heart; Mom is so strong, she faces every challenge with perseverance; People say that being alive is beautiful, and Mom has won people's praise with her love; Finally, she honorably joined the party and realized her wish; My mother actively participated in politics and was elected as a member of the District Political Consultative Conference; It's all telling the same story, another page of poetry on the theme of heroes; In our hearts, mothers are also heroes, and deeds are "great ordinary"; We have experienced ups and downs along the way, and we have grown up healthily and overcome hardships; It is my mother's love that accompanies us all the time, and this love gives us so much warmth; It is a simple greeting in the long distance, and it is a rich dinner when returning home for the holidays; No matter where I go, I will look west at Chang'an, like looking up at the stars in the dark night; We grew up, we worked, we lived happily and peacefully; Our descendants thrive, and their ambitions are as strong as they were back then; They are the sun that is about to burst out in the morning, and they are the infinitely better tomorrow in the future.
