Body

On the morning of September 18, 1940 (the seventeenth day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar), the 8th Company of the 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Detachment of the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army ambushed the Japanese puppet army from the dianzi stronghold in Nanwoshi Village, Linzi County; Victory. This was another beautiful battle after the summer of 1939, when the Japanese army in Guangrao County ambushed the Dawangqiao stronghold. The victory of this ambush dealt a heavy blow to the enemy, greatly boosted the anti-Japanese struggle mood of the military and people in the anti-Japanese base areas in the border areas of Yi (Du), Shou (Guang), Lin (Zi), and Guang (Rao), and made contributions to consolidating the anti-Japanese base areas.

Nanwoshi Village in Linzi County is Comrade Li Renfeng's hometown, and the masses of the people fully support our army, and even the "pseudo village chief" of Nanwoshi Village is also a person selected by our party to be loyal to resist Japan and have rich social skills. According to the conditions of the terrain, the mass base, and the enemy's situation, our army selected Nanwoshi Village as the location for ambushing the enemy who had attacked the stronghold of the shop. On the night of September 15, 1940, when the bright moon was hanging high and the earth was illuminated, Comrade Li Renfeng led the six companies and the eighth company of the second battalion of the third detachment of the Shandong Column to set off from Gejiakou and come west under the starry night. Before dawn on September 16, Li Renfeng led the Sixth Company into Dongwoshi Village. Comrade Sun Zheng, commander and instructor of the 2nd Battalion of the Backbone, led the 8th Company into Nanwoshi Village. He first led the company and platoon cadres of the Eighth Company to inspect the terrain and choose a favorable location to strike at the enemy, and then laid a net to prepare to annihilate the enemy puppet army sent from the Dianzi stronghold to Nanwoshi Village. The battle deployment was as follows: The 61st platoon and the 3rd platoon of the 8th Company were ambushed inside and outside the south gate of the village, and everyone had to be ready.

Three or four grenades, as soon as they heard the machine guns fire, threw them at the enemy at the wall. At this time, the three platoons ambushed in the outer wall of the south gate should send a squad to quickly rush out of the wall to block the south gate and cut off the enemy's retreat; The machine gun squad ambushed in a fenced pumpkin patch at the north end of Xishuiwan on Nanmenli Road, demanding to let go of the traitor team and concentrate their fire on the devils and shoot fiercely, especially the machine gun shooters of the devils; The second platoon lay in ambush in a courtyard near the northwest corner of the machine-gun squad, and after the machine guns were fired, they bravely charged past and fought the enemy. The cadres of the company were required to strengthen the command of each platoon; At the same time, he demanded that the troops be well concealed, calm, and not to be discovered by the enemy, and stressed that they should seek an opportunity to seize the devil's Type 65 light machine gun, and according to the general arrangement, after the battle of the Eighth Company began, the Sixth Company stationed in Dongwoshi outflanked the enemy's rear from the left flank of the Eighth Company, and gathered together with the Eighth Company to annihilate the enemy.

After dawn on September 16, according to our plan to lure the enemy out, we sent the "pseudo village chief" of Nanwoshi Village to the enemy stronghold in Dianzi to lure the enemy to dispatch. But throughout the morning, the enemy in the store stronghold never showed his head. In the afternoon, Comrade Li Renfeng led the Sixth Company to evacuate its position because of another task.

Comrade Sun Zheng led the Eighth Company to continue the task of ambushing the enemy at Nanwoshi. Since the enemy did not move, the Eighth Company temporarily moved to Xiwoshi Village to camp and spend the Mid-Autumn Festival with the people in the village.

There are really a lot of anti-Japanese heroes in the green gauze tent", this lyric is a vivid description of the heroic struggle of our anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians against the enemy during the green gauze tent period. The enemy puppet army entrenched in the shop's stronghold ordered a ban on planting sorghum every year, but the people still insisted on planting sorghum. When the sorghum grows in early autumn, the enemy forces the peasants to cut the sorghum, and the local people are willing to cut down their anti-Japanese "green yarn tents"! Therefore, in order to resist the cutting of sorghum, various forms of wits were waged with the enemy. For example, when the enemy gathered the people to cut the sorghum, our militia or guerrilla groups would hide in the sorghum fields and shoot a few shots or throw a few grenades, and the people would take the opportunity to disperse in a hurry.

In order to lure the enemy to move, our army seized the opportunity of the enemy to cut down the sorghum, and decided to let the "puppet village chief" of Nanwoshi Village go to the shop base to report to the devils: "A dozen or so plainclothes officers of the Eighth Route Army are not allowed to cut sorghum at the edge of the sorghum field in Nanwoshi Village, so they ask the imperial army to go and suppress it." The puppet village chief, who was loyal to the anti-Japanese work, thought of many ways to better accomplish this task. On the morning of September 16, after our army was ambushed in Nanwoshi Village, he sent someone to carry a load of pimple pears and a load of pumpkins, personally led them to the store base, gave the pimple pears to the devils, gave the pumpkins to the traitors, and said to them: "Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, send something to everyone for the festival." After dealing with the enemy, he made a "report" to the devils on the prepared situation, and asked the devils to hurry to Nanwoshi Village to suppress the "plainclothes team" of the Eighth Route Army. On September 17, our army ambushed again according to the deployment, and the "pseudo village chief" of Nanwoshi Village went to the store stronghold to lure the devils out. I don't know what medicine is in the devil's gourd, but this time I still didn't go out.

In the past few days, our troops have been in and out of Dongwoshi Village, West Woshi Village, and South Woshi Village, and adults and children have known about it, but the enemy in the store stronghold is only 4 miles away from us, but they have no idea of our whereabouts. It can be seen from this that the masses of the people are very supportive of our army. ** The breath is very good, making the enemy deaf and blind.

Before dawn on September 18, when our army entered the ambush position for the third time, and the "pseudo village chief" of Nanwoshi Village also went to the dianzi stronghold for the third time to lure the enemy out, the devils and traitors took the bait and dispatched. At about half past ten o'clock in the morning, the traitor came to Nanwoshi Village in front of the devil and behind him. As soon as the enemy stepped into the south gate, the "pseudo village chief" of Nanwoshi Village, who was walking in front of the traitor team, shouted loudly: "The imperial army is coming, don't run, fellow villagers!" "* It's a fellow countryman, a plainclothes scout at the battalion headquarters of the 2nd Battalion of the Backbone, pretending to be a fleeing fellow, deliberately tricking the traitor team into chasing after him in order to get away from the devil. Our ambush unit heard the shouts of "the Imperial Army is coming" and immediately prepared for battle. The bayonet was loaded, the bullet was loaded, the trigger of the gun was hooked, the grenade was held tightly in the hand, and only waited for the signal of the machine gun to fire. The traitor team walking in front of the devil saw someone running on the street, and they also shouted: "Don't run, I'll kill you if I run!" Two shots were fired. The comrades of our machine gun squad lay in wait in the pumpkin patch, calmly responded to the battle, and quickly let the traitor team go, and when the devils entered the ambush circle, our machine gun shooter Comrade Zhang Gui hooked the trigger of the machine gun and fired at the devils vigorously. I.

When the comrades of the first and third platoons heard the sound of machine guns, they immediately threw grenades at the devils outside the wall, and the devils were killed and wounded in an instant. The comrades of my second platoon braved the smoke of gunfire and grenades, and rushed over from the courtyard in the northwest corner of the machine gun squad to fight the devils, and the fierce battle ended in less than 10 minutes. Due to the distance between the front and rear of the Japanese army, it was not easy to annihilate in one fell swoop, and its machine gunners were wounded by our troops as soon as they entered the south gate, and they fled with their machine guns in tow. In this ambush battle, 5 Japanese soldiers were killed and 2 wounded, and 1 Type 88 grenadier was captured, 13 grenadier shells, 1 65 cover rifle and 1 79 Hanyang-made rifle, and a number of bullets. Comrade Yang Rizeng, the commander of the first platoon of our Eighth Company, was seriously wounded in the chest during the battle.

After cleaning up the battlefield, sending off the wounded, and bidding farewell to the masses, our army arrived at Gejiakou Village, where it was stationed, at 6 o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, with the spoils of war. After the troops entered the village, they formed their ranks in an open field, and Comrade Sun Zheng, commander and instructor of the second battalion of the basic cadres, summed up the battle. He said: "The battle that the comrades are fighting today at Nanwoshi has dealt a heavy blow to the enemy and greatly increased the prestige of our army. The victory in this battle was the result of the strong support of the local people and the heroic killing of the enemy by the comrades. Comrades must continue to work hard, use the captured enemy's **, and then strike hard at the enemy to defend the lives and property of the people in the anti-Japanese base areas! ”

After the ambush at Nanwoshi, the local villagers threw the four corpses left by the enemy into a well in the depression of Zhangdan Village, leaving no trace. It is said that one of the four corpses was a relative of a Japanese official, and in order to find this corpse, the devil gathered enemy puppet troops from Qingzhou, Shichaosheng, Dianzi and other strongholds, and dispatched "sweeping" every day. They successively "swept" in the areas of East Woshi, West Woshi, South Woshi, North Woshi, Zhang Dan, Huangjiaqu Lamb, and Yangjiaqu Lamb for more than 20 days, but they did not even see the shadow of the corpse. In order to reduce the enemy's harassment of the local people and the need for struggle against the enemy, our army decided to return the corpse of the devil, and then sent the "pseudo village chief" of Nanwoshi Village to the shop base to explain to the devil: As long as the sorghum is no longer cut and the "sweep" is no longer dispatched, the corpse will be returned. Unable to find the body, the devil agreed to the proposed conditions. So, the villagers fished the four corpses out of the well, sorted out their faces, and sent them to the shop base. When the devil saw the corpse, he also said to the person who gave the corpse, "Okay, okay." This not only reduces the loss of life and property of the people in the base area, but also covers up the identity of the "pseudo village chief", which is really killing two birds with one stone.
