A 180-member Japan-China economic and trade delegation arrived in Beijing on 23 January for a four-day trip. This is a high-level figure in the Japanese business community, including major organizations such as the China-Japan Economic and Trade Association, the Japan Chamber of Commerce, and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as well-known companies such as Nippon Steel Corporation, Sumitomo Chemical Corporation, and Mitsubishi Corporation.
The purpose of the visit was to enhance economic and economic ties with China and to discuss a wide-ranging dispute that could arise between China and the United States. The chief representatives of the visit were Japanese economic leaders Masaya Tokura and Ken Kobayashi, as well as Takao Shinto, chairman of the Japan-China Economic and Trade Association.
During the visit, we will meet with Chinese businessmen, scholars, and visit political and cultural institutions in Beijing, Shanghai, and Nanjing. During these activities, a memorial ceremony was held for the victims at the Nanjing Monument to the Victims of the Nanjing Monument and flowers were presented. This is the first official public visit to the Nanjing Monument in Japan, which also shows that the Japanese recognize and respect China's past.
This move by Japan is obviously caused by anxiety and apprehension about the current international and domestic situation. Japan is currently in the midst of a variety of serious problems such as nuclear contamination, financial turmoil, and political corruption. Japan's seafood products have been opposed around the world, Japan's financial markets have been hit by rising interest rates on the dollar, and Japan's opposition parties have been embroiled in a scandal. Japan is facing problems such as slow economic growth, an aging population, and declining global influence.
Japan is also facing a war between China and the United States. Japan formed an alliance with the United States, and under the pressure of the United States, it was forced to sign an unfair treaty with the United States. Japanese companies have also lost their competitive advantage in China and have been replaced by Chinese companies. Japan recognizes that the United States is not a trustworthy partner to work with, and that the future opportunity is China.
The purpose of Japan's visit is to express its understanding and support for China, and at the same time, it is also to repair and expand bilateral economic relations. Japan has asked China to relax entry permits for Japanese seafood and Japanese tourists. Japan is also willing to cooperate more with China in science and technology, environmental protection, infrastructure and other areas to cope with the fierce competition between China and the United States.
The number and level of the visit fully reflect Japan's concern and sincerity for China, as well as Japan's awareness of its own crisis and its desire for change. Whether or not China can accept Japan's friendly attitude and how it responds to Japan's demands will be an important decision for the future development of China and Japan.
