In the decades of modern China, countless heroic revolutionary martyrs paved our revolutionary road with their lives and blood, allowing us to have today's peace and happiness.
On that blood-paved road, there are people who still move forward until the last moment of their lives despite all the hardships and dangers. But there are also people who give up their dreams halfway through the journey and choose to leave.
Once, two brothers were admitted to the Whampoa Military Academy at the same time, and they shared the dream of serving the country. However, over time, their path went in the opposite direction.
The elder brother became a traitor, while the younger brother became a Jeongkook-level cadre. In the end, the younger brother ended up unjustly because of his brother's "exposure". What happened to the brothers and why did their fates go in such different directions?
Tao Ziqiang and Tao Zhu, a pair of brothers born in Qiyang, Hunan, have different family backgrounds. Their grandfather, Tao Kan, was a general of the Jin Dynasty, and their father, Tao Tiezheng, was a staunch revolutionary who participated in the Wuchang Uprising and the League.
However, in order to protect the people, Tao Tiezheng was finally killed by the gentry. Although Tao Ziqiang and Tao Zhu are young, their hearts are deeply influenced by their father and they are full of yearning for the revolution.
The two brothers, Tao Ziqiang and Tao Zhu, were twin stars when they were children, and the elder brother Tao Ziqiang was known as a "prodigy" and a "genius" because of his extraordinary wisdom. But fate is impermanent, after the death of the father, the financial burden of the family falls on the mother, and the two brothers' study together has become an unrealizable dream.
Tao Zhu took on the responsibilities of his family without hesitation and gave up the opportunity to continue his studies. Although Tao Zhu had to go out to work to make money because of this, he never complained and did not stop learning.
Although most of his energy has been exhausted by daily labor, he still insists on finding time to read books, and when he encounters problems that he does not understand, he will ask his brother for advice. The relationship between the two brothers has not been affected in any way, and they are still the most solid support for each other.
Despite different starting points, the path of life is often full of uncertainties. The two brothers were supposed to go to different destinies, but a chance brought them to the same end. As they grew older, the revolutionary ideals they planted as children gradually took root, and they hit it off and decided to join the revolution and serve the motherland.
So, they went to Guangzhou together, working to make money while preparing for the Whampoa Military Academy. After more than a year of hard work, they were finally successfully admitted to the Whampoa Military Academy in 1926, with the same dream in their hearts, and their steps were the same.
However, after participating in different revolutionary actions, the two brothers gradually diverged in their direction.
After the defeat of the Great Revolution, Tao Zhu actively participated in the Nanchang Uprising and the Guangzhou Uprising, and later returned to Qiyang, Hunan Province under the arrangement of the party organization to carry out armed organization work. In his hometown, he learned that his mother had been taken away by Kuomintang reactionaries.
As a member of the Communist Party, Tao Zhu actively participated in revolutionary activities, so he was quite famous among the reactionaries. The reactionaries took his mother and tried to ask Tao Zhu's whereabouts, but his mother remained fearless when she was held at gunpoint by the enemy.
Despite being questioned, her mother did not reveal any information, and the reactionaries had no choice but to release her home.
Tao Zhu felt the importance of his mother's safety, so after working in his hometown, he decided to escort his mother to Fuzhou, where he would next work. After arriving in Fuzhou, Tao Zhu served as the secretary of the provincial party committee and secretary of the municipal party committee, successfully completed the tasks assigned by the organization, and established armed forces in southern and eastern Fujian.
In addition, he also planned and successfully carried out the nationwide Xiamen prison robbery operation, led 11 people to bravely attack, and rescued more than 30 important cadres of the party organization.
Tao Zhu's revolutionary cause was in full swing, and his popularity within the Communist Party was growing day by day. At the same time, his elder brother Tao Ziqiang's revolutionary path had some twists and turns.
Tao Ziqiang participated in the Autumn Harvest Uprising, became a regimental secretary in Jinggangshan, and formed a deep friendship with *** after a foot injury. However, these experiences did not make Tao Ziqiang firm in his revolutionary beliefs.
In the Autumn Harvest Uprising, the troops suffered heavy setbacks, and the faith of many revolutionaries began to waver, and some even chose to leave the party. Chen Hao, Xu Shu and others attempted to defect, while Tao Ziqiang and Chen Hao met in Guangzhou in their early years and had a close relationship, and Chen Hao's behavior had an impact on Tao Ziqiang.
Although Tao Ziqiang did not participate in the defection, Chen Hao's defeat** had a huge impact on his mentality, and his initial revolutionary beliefs gradually became less firm.
Later, Tao Ziqiang returned to his hometown and went to Fujian, where he temporarily settled down and successively served as the secretary of the county party committee of several counties.
During the journey from their hometown to Fujian, although the two brothers chose similar routes, their mentality was completely different. During their days in Fujian, they were unable to keep in touch due to their busy schedules.
No one expected that when they met again, the situation of the two was very different, and one of them had become a "mutineer". Although they share the same fate, they make different choices.
In 1933, Tao Zhu was sent to work in the perilous city of Shanghai, where the Communists were walking on thin ice, and the slightest carelessness could expose their identities and be arrested and inhumane by the reactionaries.
Tao Zhu had only been in Shanghai for a month when he lost contact with the organization. Soon, a piece of news came that the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee demanded immediate transfer because of the "Taozhu Rebellion".
Comrade Zeng Zhi is a member of the Fuzhou party organization and Tao Zhu's lover. When she learned the news of Tao Zhu's rebellion, she could hardly believe it, and firmly believed that Tao Zhu would never do anything to betray.
So, what's really going on in Shanghai? Who revealed the news of Tao Zhu's rebellion? Back in March, Tao Zhu had just arrived in Shanghai. He found a small house to settle in, and then got in touch with the organization, but the organization didn't tell him the specific assignment, so he had to wait in the house.
Living with Tao Zhu is Wang Shantang, an underground party member. One day in May, after Wang Shantang went out, he confessed to Tao Zhu and led people to arrest him.
After Tao Zhu**, the reactionaries brutally tortured him, but he always insisted on the party's secrets and would never betray him. Although the torture was ineffective, the reactionaries tried to persuade him to surrender to shake his resolve.
However, Tao Zhu is determined, and no matter what means the other party uses, he can remain calm. However, the person who persuaded him to surrender was his brother Tao Ziqiang, which caused a huge wave in his heart.
Tao Ziqiang and his younger brother were both tortured because of the traitor's betrayal, but his different choices from his younger brother made his fate go in a completely different direction.
Tao Ziqiang was subjected to inhumane punishment in prison, including being poured a large amount of cold water into his nose, leaving sequelae. Despite the coercion, temptation, and torture, he did not stick to his original intention, and soon chose to compromise and become a revolutionary"Muineers"。
However, in the face of his brother's rebellion, Tao Zhu's heart was full of pain and disappointment. Although Tao Ziqiang persuaded him with good words, Tao Zhu did not waver at all, always adhered to his beliefs, and firmly stood on the position of communism.
Whether in the face of torture or temptation, Tao Zhu showed incomparable tenacity and determination, and he was unyielding despite his bruises, and his heart was firm and unwavering. His firm belief and selfless dedication have made people deeply feel the great spirit of communism.
Tao Zhu was unyielding, and no matter how the reactionaries tried to lure him to surrender, he always believed in communism, and was eventually sentenced to life imprisonment by the reactionaries.
Tao Zhu has never had the slightest idea of rebellion, he is resolute and unyielding, sticking to the secrets of the organization and the belief of the revolution. However, rumors of the "Taozhu Mutiny" spread in Fuzhou.
The truth is that this is false information released by the reactionaries aimed at ruining Tao Zhu's reputation, and if it is not possible to get him to surrender, then it is also a tactic to create a gap between him and the party organization.
However, Tao Zhu's iron backbone and firm conviction made it impossible for the reactionaries' conspiracy to succeed.
After Tao Zhu**, the reactionaries wanted to use him to shake the morale of the army. But a determined revolutionary will never be influenced by external forces to change his faith. For Tao Zhu, although the detention center of the Kuomintang Military Police Headquarters in Nanjing was cruel, he was ready to die, so this prison did not frighten him.
The conspiracy of the reactionaries will eventually fail.
The prison environment was harsh, dark, cramped, and full of foul odors. Such a living environment is undoubtedly unbearable for ordinary people, and may even make people go crazy in a few months.
Countless revolutionaries, however, persisted in this environment for years. The harsh environment did not dampen their faith, on the contrary, they saw the cell as a classroom for exchange and learning, where their hands were shackled but their minds collided freely.
During his years in prison, Tao Zhu filled in the gaps in his previous knowledge and learned a lot of revolutionary knowledge and theories.
The prison environment is full of unknowns and dangers, life and death, a thought. Yesterday's conversation and laughter may become today's life and death parting. Therefore, everyone is mentally prepared to face the coming of death without fear and worthy of the faith of the party and the revolution.
In September 1937, the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party worked hand in hand. At the strong request of the party organization, the Kuomintang finally released the Communist Party members who had been the first to do so.
After four years in prison, Tao Zhu finally regained his freedom.
The years in prison have finally passed, and the drums of war are ringing. When the Anti-Japanese War was raging, they got out of the prisoner car one after another and threw their pens from Rong. Tao Zhu was the same, in 1938, he joined the anti-Japanese armed forces in the Hubei and Henan regions, opened up guerrilla areas, and made great achievements for the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.
During the War of Liberation, he bravely appeared on the battlefields of Liaoshen and Pingjin battles, and was born and died, with outstanding achievements. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he was appointed director of the Political Department of the Central and Southern Military Region, and later held a number of important provincial-level positions in Guangxi and Guangdong.
Although being released from prison does not mean the beginning of a happy life, the revolutionary aspirants have always proved with their actions that their lives have never stopped moving forward because of imprisonment.
Tao Zhu, a name, a period of adherence to revolutionary beliefs, a soldier's blood, a ** incorruptible. He proved his loyalty to the party and the revolution by sticking to his faith, protecting the country with his life, and selfless dedication.
During the war, he was not afraid of sacrifice and was born and died; After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he always kept in mind the ethics of party members and put the interests of the masses in the first place. He proved his loyalty and selflessness with his actions.
When he returned to his hometown in 1951, he greeted the local ** in advance and asked them to "four prohibitions": "First, it is not allowed to greet; second, banquets are not allowed; Third, it is forbidden to give gifts; Fourth, firecrackers are not allowed. ”
His incorruptible and selfless spirit is something that each of us should learn from and emulate.
Tao Zhu secretly visited the life of the people in his hometown and visited his brother Tao Ziqiang. Tao Ziqiang joined the Kuomintang, later participated in the anti-Japanese resistance and uprising, and returned to his hometown Qiyang Middle School to teach after liberation.
When they reunited after many years, both of them were full of emotion. In the past, they were like-minded, but now they are in high positions and they are infamous.
Tao Zhu thought about it and said to his younger brother Tao Ziqiang: "You are not experienced enough as a principal, and you may mislead students, so it is better to continue to be an ordinary teacher." Tao Ziqiang followed his brother's advice, resigned as principal, and became an ordinary teacher.
In 1958, Taozhu's hometown was hit by floods, and many houses were submerged, including Taozhu's mother's old house. The local ** offered to help Tao Zhu's mother rebuild a new house, and Tao Zhu immediately communicated with **, insisting that ** should not engage in privileges, and that his mother should be treated the same as the ordinary people.
Tao Zhu has upheld the noble qualities of loyalty, dedication, fairness and honesty throughout his life. In 1965, he was entrusted with the important task of becoming the deputy prime minister. Originally, the fate of him and his brother Tao Ziqiang should be drifting apart, but the world is unpredictable, in 1967, Tao Zhu was removed from his post for investigation in the name of "mutiny", and the most painful thing for him was that the person who reported him turned out to be his brother Tao Ziqiang.
After learning of this, Tao Zhu was extremely sad, and his physical condition deteriorated day by day, and finally died in a depressed state on November 30, 1969.
Tao Zhu's life, although he was treated unfairly, his loyalty and belief are indelible. His passing makes us deeply saddened and regretted. Tao Ziqiang regretted what he had done in his later years, but this confession may not be forgiven, nor can it change the fact that he has passed.
We hope that Tao Zhu's deeds and spirit can be known and remembered by more people, so that his loyalty and faith will always illuminate our path.
Ending: Although the two brothers of the Tao family have similar fates, because of different decisions, their life trajectories have taken a completely different turn. If you abide by your heart, you will be able to have no regrets and be honest and honest in your life; If you deviate from your heart, you will be burdened with guilt for the rest of your life, and it will be difficult to let go.
Every choice in life shapes our personality, not all choices are allowed to be repeated, and not all mistakes can be forgiven.
