Sensor Workshop Features of different types of temperature transmitters

Mondo Technology Updated on 2024-02-04

As a measurement and control instrument for industrial process temperature parameters, temperature transmitters have been widely used in oil, chemical industry, chemical fiber, textile, rubber, building materials, electric power, metallurgy, medicine, food and other industries. Due to the differences in the focus of temperature transmitter requirements under different working conditions, a variety of different types of temperature transmitters are derived to meet the specific needs of customers. Today, I will briefly describe the characteristics of several temperature transmitters:

Plug-in temperature transmitters – Plug-in temperature transmitters are suitable for temperature measurement in liquids, gases or the process industry. This type of temperature transmitter is more suitable for temperature measurement in pipeline conditions, and the plug-in temperature transmitter can also be added with a temperature protection sleeve to facilitate the disassembly and inspection of the temperature transmitter without disrupting the normal operation of the pipeline. Plug-in temperature transmitters can be divided into general-purpose type, waterproof type, explosion-proof type, etc.

General Purpose Temperature Transmitter – This economical temperature transmitter is available with and without display and has a long warranty. Small size, light weight, Hersmann plug easy to install.

Waterproof temperature transmitters – Waterproof temperature transmitters are rated up to IP68, the highest level of waterproof rating standards. The waterproof temperature transmitter is submerged under a specified water pressure to ensure that it is not damaged by immersion.

Explosion-proof temperature transmitter – This temperature transmitter can be used in explosion-proof sites. Specifically, it can be divided into three explosion-proof types: flameproof type, intrinsically safe type, and dust intrinsically safe type.

Non-Plug-in Temperature Transmitters – Non-plug-in temperature transmitters are suitable for temperature measurement in indoor or outdoor environments. The measuring medium is mainly gas.

Indoor temperature transmitters, also known as wall-mounted temperature transmitters, are mainly installed on the wall of the measured environment to measure the indoor temperature. It has the characteristics of high precision, reverse wiring, overvoltage protection, current limiting protection and so on.

Outdoor temperature transmitter - known as outdoor temperature transmitter, in the face of outdoor complex environment, this temperature transmitter has the characteristics of lightning protection, frequency interception interference design, strong anti-interference and so on.
