The existence of Shu was from 221 AD to 263 AD, a total of 43 years.
The history of Shu Han can be traced back to 221 AD, when Liu Bei, the king of Hanzhong, proclaimed himself emperor in Chengdu, with the country name "Han", and the history was called "Shu Han" or "Ji Han". Liu Bei was the founder of Shu Han, and in order to continue the Han dynasty, the first thing he did after becoming emperor was to avenge Guan Yu and personally lead troops to attack Wu.
The history of Shu Han can be divided into two periods, namely the reigns of Liu Bei and Liu Chan. During Liu Bei's period, Shu Han's main goal was to conquer and expand its territory, and the war with Eastern Wu was particularly fierce. During the Liu Chan period, due to the attrition of the war and the corruption of internal affairs, the national power of Shu Han gradually declined.
Historically known as "Shu", the Shu Han Dynasty encompassed present-day Sichuan, Chongqing, and parts of Yunnan and Guizhou. During the Shu Han period, the region's economic development reached its peak, and great achievements were made in culture and art.
However, the history of Shu Han was also marked by wars and political turmoil. In terms of domestic affairs, Shu Han experienced many political crises and rebellions, such as the Guan Yu rebellion and the power struggle during Zhuge Liang's reign. In terms of foreign affairs, Shu Han was at war with Cao Wei and Eastern Wu for a long time, and the war with Eastern Wu was particularly fierce.
Eventually, Shu Han was destroyed by Cao Wei in 263 AD, marking the end of Shu Han history. However, the history of Shu Han has a far-reaching influence, and its spirit of heroic resistance to strong enemies and the pursuit of national unification has been praised by later generations.
