"With regard to the assassination in southern Lebanon, we take responsibility," Katz said. He also said Israel was committed to fighting Allah militants and destroying their infrastructure.
According to a number of Arabs**8**, the car in which Tavil, a senior commander of the elite Red Dewan force, an elite unit of Allah Lebanon, was travelling was bombed that day, killing Tavel.
Tawil is reportedly the highest-ranking Allah member to die since the outbreak of the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and he allegedly led military operations against Israel in southern Lebanon.
On 7 October last year, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) raided Israel, and a new round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict broke out. Allah in Lebanon then launched attacks on northern Israel from time to time, retaliating by Israeli air strikes and artillery strikes on targets in southern Lebanon.
