Battery pack leakage detection.

With the popularity of electric vehicles, the safety of battery packs has attracted more and more attention. Among them, battery pack leakage is a very serious problem, which not only leads to the degradation of battery performance, but also may cause safety accidents. Therefore, it is particularly important to detect leakage from battery packs.

1. Causes of battery pack leakage.

There are many reasons for battery pack leakage, mainly including the following aspects:

1.Battery pack manufacturing defects: There are some defects in the manufacturing process of the battery pack, such as poor welding, poor sealing, etc., which may lead to leakage.

2.Improper use of the battery pack: During use, if the battery pack is squeezed by external forces, bumped, or used for too long, it may cause leakage.

3.Battery pack aging: The electrolyte in the battery pack will gradually decompose over time, and if the battery pack is severely aged, leakage may occur.

2. Detection method of battery pack leakage.

In view of the leakage problem of battery pack, there are mainly the following detection methods:

1.Visual inspection: Check for obvious traces of leakage by observing the appearance of the battery pack. This method is simple and easy to do, but it is less accurate and easy to miss.

2.Air pressure detection: Pressurize the inside of the battery pack to observe whether there is a drop in air pressure, so as to determine whether there is leakage. This method is highly accurate, but the operation is complex and requires specialized equipment.

3.Mass spectrometry detection: By measuring the concentration of the components of the electrolyte in the battery pack, it is determined whether leakage has occurred. Mass spectrometry can be used to scan the electrolyte components and select the components with high signal resolution as missing objects, and then determine whether there is cell leakage in the battery pack. This method is highly accurate and eliminates the need for helium as a missing gas, resulting in significant cost savings.
