The reporter learned from the State Grid Qinghai Provincial Electric Power Company on February 20 that the "Electric Power Sky Road" Qinghai-Tibet interconnection project has been running safely and smoothly for more than 12 years, and the cumulative two-way transmission of electricity has reached 200400 million kWh. Among them, 113 were sent from Qinghai to **400 million kilowatt hours, 8.7 billion kilowatt hours from ** to Qinghai reverse transmission.

Known as the "electric power road", the Qinghai-Tibet interconnection project starts from Xining, Qinghai in the east and reaches Lhasa in the west, among them, the average altitude of the DC section of the Qaidam converter station to Lhasa converter station is more than 4,000 meters, which is the world's highest DC transmission project and the transmission line with the longest mileage through permafrost.

Since 2015, the Qinghai-Tibet interconnection project has continuously transmitted electric energy with the characteristics of the law of "Tibetan electricity to Qinghai" during the annual hydropower harvest period and "green electricity into Tibet" during the dry season, and the amount of electricity transmitted has increased year by year, and the annual transmission of electricity has been 6500 million kWh, an increase of 28300 million kWh. In 2024, the Qinghai-Tibet interconnection project will usher in the second phase of the DC expansion project, which will expand by 600 MW on the basis of the 600 MW converter capacity already built in the early stage, greatly improving the forward and reverse transmission capacity of the project.

The Qinghai-Tibet interconnection project was completed and put into operation in 2011, and the project set up an "energy artery" connecting Qinghai and Tibet. (Reporter Luo Xiaofei, Xie Tongqiang).
