With the official launch of the Apple Vision Pro in the United States, Apple has further released the device's companion support documentation, which details how to connect and charge the Vision Pro battery.
Apple officially recommends that if you know in advance that you won't be using your headset for a long time, you should disconnect the battery to extend its life. To disconnect the battery from the Apple Vision Pro, users first need to save all open files (as disconnecting the battery will turn off the device) and then rotate the power cord counterclockwise until unplugged.
In addition, Apple also revealed the different states of charge represented by the color change of the indicator when the battery is first plugged in, moved or touched during charging, and explained the significance of the color change of the indicator when the battery is disconnected from power, moved or lightly touched in the non-charging state.
Notably, Apple warns users not to sit down with the battery in their back pants pocket, avoid pulling the battery on the table when getting up, and prevent it from slipping between airplane seats.
According to Apple, the Vision Pro battery can support 2 hours of general use or 25 hours of 2D*** can be used around the clock if you are continuously connected to the power supply. Apple also offers additional Vision Pro battery packs for $200 each, but they don't support hot-swappable functionality.
