Today, Apple released a detailed support document that guides users on how to meticulously clean the Vision Pro headset and all of its companion components.
For the lens part of the Vision Pro, Apple recommends using a dry and clean microfiber cloth to wipe it, such as the polishing cloth that came with the product. If necessary, spray the Zeiss cleaning solution on the cloth before wiping. Apple reminds that if the polishing cloth is placed in a backpack, handbag or pocket, it may absorb particles and cause scratches on the Vision Pro, so it is recommended to store it in a clean bag. The polishing cloth is machine washable and tumble dry, as well as hand washable, making sure it's clean enough to wipe the headset.
To clean the internal display, cover the Vision Pro with a protective case, place the headset on a stable surface, and then gently wipe the optical display with a microfiber cloth, or use it with Zeiss Cleaning Spray if necessary.
Before cleaning the Zeiss optical inserts, remove them from the Vision Pro. They can be cleaned with Zeiss lens wipes, Zeiss cleaning spray or warm water to ensure they are completely dry before installing the back display.
Debris that adheres to the curtain around the display can be removed with a dust-free cloth, a soft-bristled brush, or non-adhesive tape. Stains in the curtain area can be gently wiped off with a damp cloth, but care must be taken to avoid getting the display wet.
For the cleaning of light seals, light seal cushions, headbands and protective covers, it is recommended to use fragrance-free dishwashing detergents, but the use of cleaning wipes, disinfectant wipes and laundry detergent should be avoided. Dissolve 5 teaspoons (25 ml) of unscented dishwashing detergent in two cups (500 ml) of warm water, then immerse Light Seal, Light Seal Cushion, headband or protective cover in the liquid and gently wipe the surface for about two minutes. Remove it, rinse it under running water and squeeze it moderately to remove excess detergent, and finally air dry at room temperature to ensure it is completely dry before reuse.
The audio tape should be cleaned with a dust-free cloth, and if wet, take a small amount of water and hypoallergenic soap, but avoid microphones, speakers, power connectors, headband connectors, and aluminum covers. After cleaning, it should be dried with a dry cloth before connecting with the main system. The speaker grille can be cleaned with a dry cotton swab.
After the battery is disconnected, wipe it with a slightly damp dust-free cloth, taking care not to let moisture get close to the power cord connector. To clean the cord itself, wipe it with a cloth dampened with soapy water and let it dry overnight before using it with Vision Pro.
