China News Service Nanning, February 27 (Lin Hao) Li Ze, director of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, said on the 27th that Guangxi will build a high-quality ASEAN national standardization cooperation and exchange center this year, explore the establishment of a China-ASEAN regional standardization organization for key characteristic industries, and build a "Guangxi channel" for ASEAN-oriented standardization international exchanges and cooperation.
On the same day, the Guangxi Market Supervision Work Conference was held in Nanning, and Li Ze introduced at the meeting that since 2023, Guangxi has actively participated in a series of activities such as the 3rd China-ASEAN Standardization Cooperation Forum and the China-ASEAN Intellectual Property Office Heads Meeting, which has contributed to the implementation of a series of important policies, projects and platforms.
At the same time, Guangxi has established quality exchange and cooperation mechanisms with 8 countries including Malaysia and Vietnam to promote the expansion of quality and technical services to 56 countries and regions around the world. In Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and other countries, Guangxi and local partners have jointly built nearly 6,000 acres of rice, sugarcane and other agricultural standardization demonstration areas, and the crops in the demonstration areas have generally increased by more than 15%.
Li Ze said that this year, Guangxi will give full play to its geographical advantages connected to ASEAN land and sea, build a high-quality standardization cooperation and exchange center for ASEAN countries, and accelerate the promotion of standards and rules to "go global".
Specifically, Guangxi will speed up the construction of the China-ASEAN RCEP international intellectual property headquarters base, prepare for the establishment of the "Belt and Road" National Metrology and Testing Research Center (Guangxi), promote the construction of the ASEAN branch of the China National Accreditation Center for Conformity Assessment, and improve the support capacity of service facilitation.
Guangxi will also host the "Belt and Road" quality brand development conference, study and formulate overseas intellectual property protection measures for ASEAN, build an information service platform for new energy vehicle standard technology measures, and provide "Guangxi experience" for ASEAN-oriented quality brand cooperation.
In 2024, we will strive to build more than 350 acres of standardized demonstration areas for dragon fruit and other agricultural planting with Laos, make new breakthroughs in standardization cooperation with Indonesia in the fields of sugar cane and cassava, cultivate 'small but beautiful' projects for ASEAN, and accelerate the pace of 'going global' with standards and rules."
