Text|Wang Xuefeng in the New Year's painting of the door god is the most common subject, the folk through the post of the door god on the one hand to drive away evil spirits, protect the safety of the house, on the other hand, say goodbye to the old and welcome the new, increase the festive atmosphere of the festival. In the book "Classic of Mountains and Seas", it is recorded that the Emperor of Heaven ordered two gods, Shen Tu and Yu Lei, to guard the ghost gate, and used peach wood to catch harmful ghosts to feed the tiger, which is the earliest image of the door god in China. It is recorded in the "Jing Chu Years Chronicles" of the Southern Dynasty Zongyi: on the first day of the first month, "the peach board is made to the household, which is called the fairy wood, and the two gods are painted to stick to the left and right of the household, the left god is the left god, and the right is Yu Lei, which is commonly known as the door god". From this record, we can know that in the Southern Dynasty, there was a custom of painting gods on the peach wood board door and Yu Lei as the door god. Qin Qiong and Wei Chi Jingde are the two founding generals of the Tang Dynasty, extremely brave, repeatedly made military exploits, the two participated in the Xuanwu Gate with Li Shimin, after the fact Qin Qiong was named the general of the left Wuwei, and the Wei Chi Jingde was named the general of the right Wuhou, and they were buried in Zhaoling after their deaths. The deeds of these two heroes of Tang Taizong have been continuously interpreted in later folklore, and "Journey to the West" and "Romance of the Sui and Tang Dynasties" have records of Tang Taizong's harem being haunted by ghosts and restless nights, and under the protection of Qin Qiong and Yu Chi Jingde. Tang Taizong read the hard work of the two, and ordered the painter to draw the two generals and paste them on the door, which is the origin of Qin Qiong and Wei Chi Jingde as door gods. Of course, this legend mainly relies on the literary works of the Ming and Qing dynasties, so Qin Qiong and Wei Chi Jingde should appear in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties as the images of door gods. This Qin Qiong and Yu Chi Jingdemen Divine New Year paintings are produced in Mianzhu, Sichuan, and donated by Mr. Wang Shucun. The picture is an S-shaped vertical whip door god, the left one holding the long beard is the left Wuwei general Qin Qiong, and the right one holding the whip beard is the right Wuhou general Wei Chi Jingde, the character image is derived from the opera Wusheng, the shape is full and thick, witty and lively, diverse and unified. Sichuan Mianzhu is an important production area of New Year's paintings, mostly using the method of printing and painting, Mianzhu New Year's paintings have a formula: one ink (refers to the printing ink line), two powder (refers to the face of the characters and other parts with powder as the background color), three golden yellow (refers to the crown of the clothes ** painted orange), colorful clothes (refers to the commonly used magenta, pink, Huangdan, Buddha green, royal blue, green and other colors to paint), the color of the picture is bright and gorgeous, full of festive colors.
