On February 18, the reporter learned from the Zhongshan Border Inspection Station of the Zhuhai Border Inspection Station that during the Spring Festival this year, from February 9 to 17 (Chinese New Year's Eve to the eighth day of the Lunar New Year), more than 3150,000 person-times, an increase of 300% over the same period last year. Among them, about 1590,000 people, about 1560,000 passengers.
According to reports, three days before the Spring Festival, Zhongshan Port was dominated by inbound passenger flow. Starting from the third day of the Lunar New Year, the port ushered in the "two-way" peak of passenger flow, Hong Kong residents returning to their hometowns to visit relatives for the holidays, overseas Chinese entering and mainland residents traveling abroad during the holidays, and Hong Kong residents returning to their hometowns for the holidays in the early stage of the "superposition" together constitute the main force of the entry and exit passenger flow, with more than 4,400 people entering and exiting the country throughout the day, which is the peak day of single-day entry and exit during the Spring Festival, and also set a record high since the resumption of customs clearance at the port. In the second half of the Spring Festival, there was a large number of outbound passengers, mainly Hong Kong residents and overseas Chinese who had returned to their hometowns for the Spring Festival.
According to the relevant person in charge of Zhongshan Border Inspection Station, Zhongshan and Hong Kong face each other across the sea, Zhongshan Port is only 80 minutes away from Hong Kong's China Hong Kong City waterway voyage, only 60 minutes away from Hong Kong International Airport, and the frequency of passenger ferries is intensive, and has always been an important channel for mainland residents and Hong Kong and Macao residents on the west bank of the Pearl River. This year's holiday period is long, and the concentrated travel demand of Hong Kong and mainland tourists has led to a significant increase in the flow of inbound and outbound passengers during the Spring Festival holiday this year.
In order to cope with the peak of passenger flow during the Spring Festival, the Zhongshan Border Inspection Station made scientific deployment, strengthened the docking with passenger transport companies, grasped the passenger flow situation in advance, and increased police preparedness support; During peak passenger flow hours, additional inspection channels will be opened, and additional police forces will be dispatched to do a good job in passenger flow guidance, so as to create a safe and warm customs clearance environment for the majority of inbound and outbound passengers, and ensure efficient and smooth customs clearance at the port.
