On a sunny afternoon on May 2, 1983, workers were pruning fruit trees in the Tanglin orchard in Shenyang. Suddenly, a small, raised mound of dirt caught the attention of the workers. Liu Xiaobo couldn't help but shout loudly: "Who repaired the tomb here?" Everyone gathered around and discussed angrily. However, when the workers found a woman's braid peeking out at the bottom of the mound, an atmosphere of fear pervaded. Someone said in alarm: "How can this be a grave?" Someone must have been killed! ”
The chatter of the orchard workers caused a commotion throughout the orchard. The person in charge of the orchard immediately sent someone to protect the scene, and at the same time dialed ** to report the case to the public security organ.
By the time the police car arrived, it was nearly 6:10 p.m. Several forensic doctors and investigators from the Shenyang Public Security Bureau, including Xu Gongwei, rushed to the scene.
Under the lights, forensic scientists began to survey the scene. They found a drag mark about 5 meters long, as well as a sedentary indentation of two people. In addition, a school bag containing tissue paper and some rags, as well as a soda bottle and a red wine glass, were found.
Xu Gongwei picked up the glass wine glass, sniffed closely, and immediately smelled a bitter almond smell. He immediately concluded: "This is *** is an extremely toxic substance, only 015 to 025 grams can be fatal.
With the efforts of the detectives and orchard workers, they tore through the mound and found a woman's body in a deep pit. The female corpse was visibly pregnant, with a high bulge in her abdomen.
Subsequently, the forensic doctors transported the female body back to the autopsy room, and Xu Gongwei presided over the autopsy and conducted an all-night autopsy.
Xu Gongwei carefully observed the appearance of the female corpse, sniffed her mouth, and also noticed the pungent smell of bitter almonds. The female corpse apparently died of asphyxiation, with purple-black skin, cyanotic nails, and bleeding ......spots scattered across her face, neck, and chestAll these phenomena are perfectly consistent with the characteristics of cyanide poisoning.
Xu Gongwei held a scalpel and took out a full-term baby boy from the abdomen of the female corpse, and the poor life died in the mother's womb before he came to this world. Obviously, this is a case of being ** by others.
So, who brutally took the lives of mother and child?
Xu Gongwei deduced: "Judging from the appearance of the deceased, she looks mature, but her age should not exceed ten ** years old." He continued, "I think it's likely that she was pregnant out of wedlock. ”
It is routine for forensic doctors and investigators to discuss the case and continue the autopsy.
Judging from the school bags, rags and toilet paper found at the scene, it looked like an abortion. The recorded medical examiner said, "It is likely that this is a ruse by criminals to ** her." ”
True, this is clearly a case committed by an acquaintance. Another forensic physician involved in the autopsy nodded in agreement.
No one disputed their analysis and judgment. It is not uncommon for such a pregnancy caused by private affairs to eventually lead to ** coldly erasing the lives of mother and child.
Xu Gongwei skillfully used a scalpel to remove the stomach of the female corpse and examine the stomach contents. Based on the extent of the digested debris of the food, he determined that the deceased had been killed less than an hour after eating. Residues of a variety of dishes were found in the stomach of the female corpse, such as leeks, eggs, fungus, kelp, pork, etc.
Ate at least four dishes. Xu Gongwei concluded.
Xu Gongwei has invested a lot of time and energy in studying the digestive residues of human food, and has accumulated a wealth of experience.
After his retirement, he and three other colleagues, with funding from the Ministry of Public Security, specialized in the study of food digestion residues, and achieved important results. In order to let more people understand the importance of food digestive residues in criminal investigations, I will cite two cases in which Xu Gongwei participated:
In the summer of 1978, a large-scale theft occurred at the Xinmin County Grain Bureau in Shenyang City, where hundreds of thousands of catties of grain stamps were stolen. During the investigation of the scene, the investigators found a pile of human feces. After analysis, it was determined that it was left by the thieves. So, they took a sample of the stool and sent it to the Technical Section of the Criminal Police Detachment of the Shenyang Municipal Public Security Bureau for examination. Forensic doctor Xu Gongwei is in charge of this task. Through his examination, it was found that the feces contained sorghum rice, celery, pig's head meat, sweet potato skin and other ingredients......
Sweet potato rind? Xu Gongwei thought to himself, "It's July now, and the sweet potatoes haven't been harvested yet, let alone go on the market." So, who might eat sweet potatoes? He reasoned that it was likely that people living in rural areas or urban-rural areas were less likely to commit crimes. Xu Gongwei's analysis helps narrow the scope of the investigation. Based on this clue, shortly after, investigators caught the thief in the rural-urban area and seized two large bags of food stamps.
One day in 1979, a female corpse was found in a sack in a rice field canal in Yuhong District, Shenyang City. Through Xu Gongwei's identification, the deceased was a young girl, and the cause of death was suffocation after being suffocated. During the dissection, pasta, celery, cucumber seeds, etc., were found in food debris of the large intestine and rectum. According to the investigation and visit of the criminal investigators, the identity of the deceased was found and it was found that one of her "godfathers" had become an important suspect. During a search of his residence, an old pair of pants that had been used to wipe feces was found.
Xu Gongwei examined the stool and confirmed that the blood in it was consistent with the deceased's blood type, and that the food substances remaining in the stool were completely consistent with the residue in the deceased's rectum. Based on this discovery, he concluded that the deceased's "godfather" was **. The case was eventually solved.
Based on the experience of these two cases, it can be seen that in criminal investigations, the examination and analysis of feces left at the scene or food residues in the gastrointestinal tract of corpses can determine the living conditions and eating habits of criminals or victims, and even reflect the customs and ethnic characteristics of the areas where they live, provide important clues for solving cases, and can also be used as effective physical evidence.
At this time, Xu Gongwei speculated after a detailed examination of food residues: "The way these dishes are eaten does not look like at home, but more like eating in a restaurant." ”
This analysis is very important. There are several restaurants near the orchard that cater to tourists and pedestrians. Combined with the indentations found at the scene and the fact that the deceased was killed less than an hour after the meal, it is very likely that the deceased had the last meal at a restaurant near Tanglin.
Investigators rushed to these restaurants to investigate. Sure enough, in a restaurant in front of the Tanglin Cemetery, they found the same dishes as the food residues in the stomach of the female corpse. The restaurant staff recalled that the previous afternoon, a pregnant young woman with two braids and a man about 30 years old had come to the restaurant and ordered a four-course meal with rice. However, the staff could not provide more information about the characteristics of the man.
At 7 p.m. on May 3, 1983, Li Hanpu was detained by the "5.2 Double Corpse Case" task force.
After three hours of interrogation, in the end, in front of conclusive evidence, Li Hanpu admitted the facts of his crime.
The deceased's name is Zhang Xiaohua, 18 years old, unmarried, Li Hanpu's *** Li Hanpu's wife Li Xiaoping works in a hospital in Shenyang City. In May 1982, 17-year-old Zhang Xiaohua came to Shenyang from her hometown to ask her sister and brother-in-law to help arrange a job, so she lived in Li Hanpu's home. Because Li Xiaoping often works night shifts, Zhang Xiaohua and Li Hanpu are often alone at home, and in the end, under the **, Zhang Xiaohua, who lived in her sister's house for only two months, had a relationship with Li Hanpu. However, what Li Hanpu didn't expect was that two months later, Zhang Xiaohua became pregnant.
In order to cover up the facts, Li Hanpu rented a small house, let Zhang Xiaohua live alone, and lied to his wife, saying that he would send Zhang Xiaohua to study and prepare for future work arrangements. Li Xiaoping devoted herself to her work and was convinced that her sister would study.
Li Hanpu persuaded Zhang Xiaohua to have an abortion many times, but she resolutely refused every time. In the end, Li Hanpu was worried that his ugly deeds would be exposed, so he had the idea of killing. He stole some of the *** used to restore the boat from the garden management and put it in his safe. On the afternoon of May 1, 1982, he lured Zhang Xiaohua to come to Tanglin under the pretext of giving her **, and then forced her to drink *** after eating in a restaurant
In this way, the double corpse case finally has an answer in the Tanglin orchard. Murder ** Li Hanpu will eventually receive the most severe punishment of the law - to be escorted to the execution ground.
