Talking about the follow up to the Kinmen incident

After the Kinmen incident occurred a few days ago, Taiwan's puppet Coast Guard treated mainland ships for no reason and brutally in the waters off Kinmen, causing two deaths and two injuries to mainland fishermen.

Now, the response is coming, first on February 18, that is, on the ninth day of the Lunar New Year, the China Coast Guard stated that "it will carry out normalized law enforcement patrols in the Xiajin waters", pay attention to the key word - "normalization".

Then, six coast guard ships were dispatched at once, and a day later, on February 19, near the northwestern waters of Kinmen Island, a Kinmen sightseeing ship with 11 crew members and 23 passengers, all Taiwanese, was boarded and inspected.

In the past, in the waters off Kinmen, the mainland coast guard did not inspect Taiwan's vessels very much, and this practice was once a tacit understanding between the two sides of the strait.

After Ma Ying-jeou came to power, he put forward a new exposition -- "the two sides of the strait do not recognize each other's sovereignty and do not deny each other's governing power." The essence of the exposition is that it is impossible for Taiwan to govern the mainland, and the mainland cannot manage Taiwan for the time being, so let's live like this for the first time.

I have to say that Ma Ying-jeou's remarks are quite "independent", no wonder many people say that he is secretly independent. However, out of consideration for the overall situation, although the mainland side has not openly agreed with this exposition, it has not openly denied it.

For example, in the waters of Kinmen, the mainland coast guard does not inspect Taiwan's ships very much, but lets Taiwan's puppet coast guard take responsibility.

The "pseudo Coast Guard" on the other side of the strait has enforced the law too much, and after a long time, it will sit on the power of governance.

With regard to the so-called "forbidden and restricted waters" unilaterally demarcated by Taiwan in the waters off Kinmen, mainland coast guard ships basically do not enter them, and these are tacit understandings. The figure below shows the control line unilaterally demarcated by Taiwan as "prohibiting and restricting waters", with the blue line being restricted access and the red line being completely prohibited.

As long as the people of Xiamen do not need to go to sea for a few kilometers, they will encounter "forbidden and restricted waters", and if they want to pass through the waters of Kinmen, they can only detour from the west or east, and no matter which distance they choose, it is much farther and extremely inconvenient.

As a result, the existence of this "forbidden and restricted waters" has seriously hindered Xiamen's economic development, such as the value of fishery, which was only about 800 million yuan in 2020, according to the city of Xiamen**.

Although Xiamen is not a major fishing city, it has a coastline of more than 200 kilometers, a permanent population of 5.28 million, and a GDP of 800 billion, even if the fishing industry only accounts for 0 percent of GDP5%, there should also be 4 billion, as low as 800 million is obviously abnormal, obviously severely restricted by the "prohibition and restriction of waters".

The 2015 meeting between the leaders of the two sides of the strait in Singapore was regarded by the Blue Camp as a victory for the discourse that "the two sides of the strait do not recognize each other's sovereignty and do not deny each other's governing power". Based on this tacit understanding, during the Ma Ying-jeou era, the "puppet Coast Guard" drove away or seized mainland fishing boats relatively rarely (not completely).

However, after Nanako came to power, she began to carry out provocations in various fields, among which the "pseudo-coast guard" was an important role, and in the year she came to power, she carried out as many as 490 expulsions of mainland fishing boats, which increased to 1,700 four years later, and the number of seizures also increased significantly, many of which were in the waters of Kinmen.

It's not that it hasn't happened in the past, but things are not as serious as this time, and there are four main points:

One is that it happened in the waters of Kinmen, which is too sensitive; the second is that there is a human life; the third is the New Year's Day; Fourth, after the incident, the attitude of the other side of the strait was extremely bad, and not only did it not think that it was wrong, but it also called on the mainland to "restrain its own people."

That is, there is no room for maneuver, so the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council first stated that "there are no restrictions and prohibited waters", and then began regular patrols and boarding inspections in the waters of Kinmen on the 18th, officially breaking the tacit understanding of "not denying each other's governing power".

The law enforcement action in the waters of Kinmen is a denial of Taiwan's puppet governance in the region, which is nothing bad, and there will be more tacit understanding broken in the future.

The strength of the two sides of the strait has long been unequal, and it is impossible to continue this tacit understanding that does not conform to reality, let alone in a place like Kinmen, even if nothing else is considered, and the space for economic development in Xiamen City should have been broken a long time ago.

In fact, it is not enough for the coast guard to enforce the law and deny the jurisdiction of the other side, more action is needed. We must make the people above Kinmen understand that it is the mainland, not Taiwan, that really exercises jurisdiction here, and that it is necessary to force the other side to give up ** in Kinmen through strong pressure.

Having said so much about the actions of the mainland, what is the reaction of the other side?

After the incident, the other side of the strait had a very arrogant attitude at first, but after the mainland stated that "there is no prohibition or restriction of waters," it seemed to realize that the matter was getting bigger, and wanted to calm the matter, so it wanted to ask the Taiwan Red Cross Society to contact the Red Cross Society on the mainland to give some compensation to the families of the deceased.

Note that compensation is not compensation, legally speaking, compensation refers to the case of not thinking that you are at fault, just out of the principle of fairness, to make up a little money, and compensation is to admit that you are at fault.

But obviously, we don't need this kind of false compensation, so we didn't take it.

After the Fujian Coast Guard's law enforcement in the waters off Kinmen began, the Kinmen "Puppet Coast Guard" demanded that the fishermen not go to sea in the near future, and the "Puppet Coast Guard's" own boat hid in the harbor and did not come out.

During the 34 minutes that the mainland coast guard boarded the ship to enforce the law, the "pseudo coast guard" ship did not dare to come up to interfere, and in this regard, the report of Sanli News, the mouthpiece of the green camp, was "escorted for 65 minutes to drive away". Anyone with a discerning eye can see that this is making up for it, how can there be an escort for 65 minutes, not to mention that when you board the ship for inspection, you didn't dare to come up to stop it.

Looking at the official statement of the Green Battalion, on February 20, after the mainland coast guard boarded the ship for inspection, Guan Biling, the chairman of the "Puppet Maritime Affairs Commission", the superior supervisory unit of the "Puppet Coast Guard", expressed his stance like this: "Why let the people feel panicked and frightened, feel regretful, and hope that this incident can pass quickly."

You must know that Guan Biling's dark green is usually very tough, and on February 18, Guan Biling also said that "we must protect the restricted waters of Kinmen".

However, only two days later, when the mainland coast guard really broke the so-called restricted waters, Guan Biling's posture was lowered a lot, and it became "I hope this incident can pass quickly", which fully illustrates a truth: For those forces that bully the weak and are afraid of the hard, if you are tough, it will soften.

Don't look at the arrogance of those dark greens every day, in fact, they know best in their hearts how big the gap between the two sides of the strait is, so what can the green camp do next?

Objectively speaking, in the face of the absolute disparity in strength, any conspiracy and trickery are useless, and there is not much that the Green Battalion can do but continue to bring in US forces and intensify provocations, especially the use of law enforcement units such as the "Pseudo Coast Guard."

As the US forces continue to enter and the possibility of intensifying provocations across the strait, the game in the Taiwan Strait is about to enter a climax, and the confrontation between the coast guard and even the first country may occur again and again.

As I said in my article "Let's Talk About Two Major Events in Kinmen", the game between China and the United States in the Taiwan Strait has entered a critical period, and in this period, both sides are already playing cards.

You know what cards I have, and I also know what cards you have, for example, the United States can talk about Taiwan, and we can also make trouble for Israel.

In the state of open cards, the most effective is not what tricks, but dare not play the cards in their hands, dare not face the difficulties, no matter how big the cards in the hand, dare not come out is about equal to waste paper.

When the narrow road meets, the brave wins.
