A few days ago, sponsored by the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Artists Association, Shihezi Art Museum, Shihezi Painting and Calligraphy Institute, and Urumqi Painting and Calligraphy Institute, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Old Artists Works Literature Exhibition (Urumqi Station) was held in Xinjiang Urumqi Art Museum. The older generation of artists of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (hereinafter referred to as the "XPCC") paid tribute to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the XPCC with their masterpieces.
The exhibition is divided into four chapters: "War Song of Military Reclamation", "New Song of Hanhai", "Song of Life" and "New Song of Oasis", with works on display including printmaking, Chinese painting, woodcut and other art forms, focusing on the production and life, customs and customs during the construction period of the Corps, and showing the glorious history of the Corps.
Song Xinghua's sculptures "Female Tractor Driver", "Soldier" and "The First Plough of Military Reclamation" create a typical image of a soldier of the Corps; Huang Gejie's prints "New Song of Hanhai" and "Staying at the Flaming Mountain at Night" depict the fighting spirit and pride of the soldiers in the revolutionary work; Pan Longhuang's "Spring", Lin Jingsong's "Deep Water", Jin Renxiang's "Night Battle of the Wheat Sea" and other works truly record the labor scenes of the sons and daughters of the Corps in cultivating wasteland, building water conservancy, and harvesting grain and cotton.
Many of the works focus on the theme of national unity, and use rich expressions and vivid color language to tell the stories of the sons and daughters of all ethnic groups in the XPCC building their homeland together and forging ahead in unity. For example, Song Dazhao's printmaking "Deep Love of Fish and Water" shows the daily interaction and harmonious coexistence between the ethnic minority masses and the soldiers of the army reclamation through the life scene of "sending water", showing a strong "military and civilian fish and water love". Huang Gejie and Wang Huiyi's printmaking "Auntie is Good" presents a warm picture of respect and love between the military and the people from a unique perspective.
Through the works of the older generation of artists of the XPCC, this tour exhibition reviews the entrepreneurial process of the XPCC, shows the vivid practice of generations of XPCC people in defending the country and building frontiers, aiming to inherit and carry forward the spirit of the XPCC, enhance the pride of the Chinese nation, and constantly forge the sense of community of the Chinese nation.
