On the evening of the 23rd, China successfully launched the communication technology test satellite No. 11 using the Long March 5 Yao-7 carrier rocket at the Wenchang Cosmodrome, and the satellite successfully entered the predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success.
The Long March 5 carrier rocket is the largest cryogenic launch vehicle in service in China, which is developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, with a core stage diameter of 5 meters, using 2 YF-77 hydrogen-oxygen engines and 8 YF-100 liquid oxygen kerosene engines, with a take-off thrust of more than 1,000 tons.
Lou Luliang, deputy chief designer of the Long March 5 launch vehicle, said that the number of launches of the Long March 5 series of launch vehicles will reach 4 to 5 times this year, and it will continue to maintain such frequency in the next few years.
The model team makes full use of the front and rear remote conference system, remote auxiliary test launch system, etc., to reduce the need for personnel support at the launch site; Sort out and optimize the launch site process, continue to shorten the launch site test and launch cycle, and further improve the efficiency of testing and launching.
The communication technology test satellite 11 launched this time is mainly used to carry out multi-band, high-speed satellite communication technology verification.
