Beverage Packaging: Exciting Sports Vuum Energy Drink Packaging Design

Energy and protein drinks are nothing new. In fact, energy drinks with added protein are nothing new, and energy giants like Monster also offer this drink.

But Vuum, founded by Matt Forsey and Valentino Sinacola, is a new foray into the combination, using plant protein and so-called "natural caffeine" from green tea extract, theanine and guarana, among others. In addition, vuum drinks are carbonated beverages that do not contain ingredients that can cause bloating, such as lactose, whey, sugar, and artificial sweeteners (Vuum uses stevia). It's also not like drinking a thick chalky shake.

In the crowded energy and protein ready-to-drink (RTD) space, Vuum needed a unique brand identity and packaging, and they reached out to Studio Some Days to make the visual identity pop. What Vuum lacks in the typical energy drink and protein drink tropes is made up for by a clever balance of organic and metallic elements.

Vuum's slender jar features a shiny metal background with text markings mostly on the front, placed vertically, and the font comes with deep inkwells. The effect is striking and eye-catching, which is crucial when put into a cooler along with dozens of other options. Some colors are added to the packaging system to distinguish the flavors offered – white peach, citrus ginger, strawberry, orange, and berry.

This method is both simple and ingenious, and is a refreshing change from the often busy packaging of most energy drinks. The metallic background puts the vuum in this category and adds a bit of a scientific vibe, but is subtly offset by other visual elements on the packaging.

The brand is now live on Voum** and says it will soon expand into retail and enter into "exciting" partnerships.
