In 1946, our army lost 4 generals, one of whom could be awarded a marshal and three of whom could be awarded a general, which is regrettable
The year 1946 was a special year in the history of the Chinese revolution, and it was at the fierce stage of the War of Liberation, and our army was faced with arduous tasks and severe challenges. In this year, our army unfortunately lost four outstanding generals, they are Ye Ting, Luo Binghui, Xie Xiangjun and Guan Xiangying.
First of all, Ye Ting, as one of the important leaders of the New Fourth Army, General Ye Ting's life is full of legends. He made great achievements in the Nanchang Uprising and the Guangzhou Uprising. However, fate was often fickle, and he was detained for five years during the Southern Anhui Incident, where he suffered a lot. When he was finally released in 1946, he was hopeful about returning to Yan'an, but unfortunately, his plane crashed on the way, and General Ye Ting died in the line of duty along with his family. Had he not died unexpectedly, he would have been awarded the rank of marshal at the 1955 ceremony.
General Luo Binghui came from a poor background, but he was brave and fearless, and he was one of the outstanding generals of our army. During the War of Liberation, he participated in many important battles and made great achievements. He performed heroically in many anti-encirclement and suppression battles and won important victories in the War of Liberation. However, after winning the Battle of Zaozhuang, he suddenly suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died after rescue efforts failed. This unexpected death is embarrassing, and it also makes people lament the impermanence and fragility of life. If he were still alive, he would have been awarded the rank of general in 1955.
General Xie Xiangjun joined the Red Army at a young age and was a general with outstanding military achievements. He grew up in the flames of war from an early age, joined the Red Army at the age of 16, and made great achievements. In many anti-encirclement and suppression battles, he performed well and was deeply loved by his subordinates. However, in the battle of Lianshui, he was shot and killed by the enemy while observing the enemy's situation, and died a heroic death. His death is regrettable, and it also makes people lament the cruelty and ruthlessness of the battlefield. Had he not died, he would have been awarded the rank of lieutenant general in 1955.
General Guan Xiangying was a strong-willed, courageous and fearless revolutionary. During the War of Liberation, he held important posts and fought unremittingly for the cause of the party and the people. He fought many times in the revolutionary cause and made selfless contributions. However, the long period of hard work eventually led to his physical collapse, and he continued to work despite his serious illness until his death. His passing is a sad reminder of the preciousness of life and the importance of health. If he had not died of illness, he would have been present at the 1955 award ceremony.
These four generals fought bravely and selflessly for the cause of the party and the people, they were heroes during the War of Liberation, and they were models of heroic struggle and selfless dedication to the cause of the party and the people. Although they did not see the birth of the new China at the time of their deaths, their heroic names were immortalized and became a glorious chapter in the history of the revolution, inspiring generations of revolutionaries to continue to move forward.
