On February 2, the company revealed its latest cooperation agreement with Samsung at the recently held Qualcomm 2024 fiscal year 1 quarter ** meeting. According to the agreement, the two parties will continue to deepen cooperation and jointly promote the development of the "Snapdragon for Galaxy" chip project.

In the Galaxy S24 series of phones released by Samsung this year, it has adopted different chip strategies for different markets. In Europe and elsewhere, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ are powered by Samsung's own Exynos 2400 chip, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Although the Exynos 2400 performed well in some performance tests, such as outperforming the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in ray tracing tests, it is still struggling to catch up with the Qualcomm Snapdragon series in terms of overall performance.

According to ITBEAR technology information, for the future Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung has decided to adopt the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor globally. The processor will be built using Qualcomm's own Nuvia Oryon CPU architecture and manufactured using advanced 3nm process technology to achieve higher operational efficiency and performance gains.

"We are pleased to announce the extension of our multi-year partnership agreement with Samsung, and we will continue to offer the Snapdragon platform for our flagship Galaxy smartphones starting in 2024," Qualcomm said at the conference. "The extension of this agreement not only highlights the market value and technology leadership of the Snapdragon 8 series, but also further solidifies our long-term strategic partnership with Samsung." ”
