Introduction

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), also known as vascular permeability factor (VPF), is a highly specific pro-vascular endothelial cell growth factor, which has the effect of promoting increased vascular permeability, extracellular matrix degeneration, vascular endothelial cell migration, proliferation and angiogenesis.
