[TechWeb] reported on February 26 that, according to foreign media reports, the next-generation virtual reality (VR) headset Quest Pro (Meta Quest Pro 2) jointly produced by Meta and LG will be launched in the first half of 2025.

South Korean media quoted industry sources as saying that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will meet with the CEO of LG Electronics on Wednesday to finalize the details of the cooperation.

This isn't the first time that there have been rumors that the two companies may join forces to develop the Quest Pro headset. As early as 6 months ago, another South Korean news** reported that Meta had partnered with LG to create a future Quest Pro headset. Last month, LG confirmed that it was working on a new headset.

It is reported that Meta's first-generation VR headset, Meta Quest Pro, was released in October 2022. It's a standalone wireless VR headset, but its capabilities extend to scanning the real world with a camera and depth sensor and overlaying it with virtual objects. The mixed reality experience it creates feels like an AR experience created by Magic Leap and HoloLens.

The device is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Plus processor, with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and eye and face tracking, with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a resolution of 1920x1800 pixels per eye, and a battery life of 1 to 2 hours.

In terms of **, when it was first launched, the Meta Quest Pro was priced at 1499$99. Today, this device is priced at $999. (Little Fox).
