Fast Technology reported on February 17 that MSI CLAW handheld has been put on the shelves in China, and some people have conducted some simple tests after getting it, and they also compared the popular ROG ALLY handheld.
MSI CLAW debuted two versions, of which the Core Ultra 5 135H, 16GB, and 512GB versions were priced at 5299 yuan, and the Core Ultra 7 155H, 16GB, and 1TB versions were priced at 6299 yuan.
The MSI CLAW tested is based on the Core Ultra 5 155H, compared to the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme on the ROG handheld.
The screen size and resolution are the same, and the memory is the same, so the comparison is fair.
In Cyberpunk 2077, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Resident Evil, MSI CLAW is better than ROG handheld at four TDP settings: 15W, 20W, 25W, and Peak (MSI 40W ROG 30W).
At the same time, it can be seen that the lower the TDP setting, the greater the lag of MSI CLAW.
If you switch to the Core Ultra 5 135H processor, MSI CLAW's performance will drop significantly, and the same 20W, Cyberpunk 2077 can lose close to 25.
The Z1 Extreme can easily crush the Core Ultra 5 135H, with a lead of as much as 22 times.
On the other hand, MSI CLAW has significantly better battery life.
Also set to TDP 20W, MSI CLAW peripheral hardware power consumption is 55W, battery life of about 2 hours; The ROG handheld has a power consumption of up to 9W and a battery life of only about 12 hours.
Also set to TDP 15W, MSI CLAW peripheral hardware power consumption is 4W, and the battery life is about 27 hours; ROG handheld perimeter power consumption up to 85W, the battery life is only about 16 hours.
