As we all know, after the founding of New China, the work of awarding titles was not carried out immediately, and it was not until 1955 that the work of rating and awarding titles was carried out, and the military ranks of a small number of generals were underestimated, such as the familiar Major General Zhong Wei, who was the commander of the column of Siye in the War of Liberation, but only awarded the rank of major general.

In addition, there is the unfamiliar Major General Tan Youlin, he is the only founding major general who has won five first-class medals, and was the political commissar of the 5th Division of the Red 2nd Army Corps during the Red Army, but he was awarded the major general for various reasons.

The *** in charge of the award work took the initiative to talk to Tan Youlin and admitted his negligence in the work, but Tan Youlin didn't care about these, he said: "The comrades-in-arms who participated in the revolution with me, they sacrificed, I now have a wife and children, and I am still the founding general, what is not satisfied!" ”

I have to say that General Tan Youlin's mind is admirable, there are many stories that happened for the rank of the military when the title was awarded, and even the ** boss also stood up for an old subordinate to complain, and finally Mr. Chen's subordinates changed from a major general to a founding lieutenant general, which is well deserved.

Mr. Chen's old subordinate is called Liang Congxue, nicknamed "Liang Laohu", to get such a title, he has definitely experienced many vicious battles and tough battles, he has been injured 13 times, 9 times was seriously injured, several times almost died, with amazing perseverance he survived.

Liang Congxue is a native of Lu'an, Anhui Province, born in a poor family, at the age of 9 to herd cattle for others, and later as an apprentice of wine to endure hardships, in September 1929, 26-year-old Liang Congxue joined the Army Agricultural Association, and joined the party, and later became a Red Army soldier.

Liang Congxue rushed to the front every time he encountered the battle, and made meritorious contributions many times, successively served as a squad leader, platoon commander and regiment commander, but unfortunately Liang Congxue did not participate in the Long March, in January 1932, he was wounded when he followed the main force of the Red Fourth Front Army across the Pinghan Road and was forced to stay in the Soviet area.

After that, Liang Congxue insisted on three years of guerrilla warfare in the Hubei-Henan-Anhui border area, during which Liang Congxue almost died many times, the most dangerous one was in August 1936, when he fought the enemy in the Huanggang area of Hubei, and was unfortunately hit by a stray bullet, which passed between the lung lobe and the heart.

Due to the serious injury, in order not to affect the movement of the troops, Liang Congxue took the initiative to ask to stay in the villager's house to recuperate, at that time he was ready to sacrifice, because the villager's home did not have medicine, wound infection was unavoidable, but he did not expect the villager to cure him with the local method.

The fellow insisted on dressing his wound with a loofah every day, and after a period of time, Liang Congxue was miraculously cured, and then he re-established the guerrilla force in Huanggang, and after the all-out anti-Japanese war, the unit was reorganized into the New Fourth Army, and in 1941, Liang Congxue became the brigade commander of the 4th Brigade of the 2nd Division of the New Fourth Army.

It was in the battle with the Japanese army that Liang Congxue led his troops to fight bayonets with the Japanese army and the puppet army, killing the Japanese army in fear, so he had the nickname of "Liang Laohu", and in the later war of liberation, Liang Congxue served as the first deputy commander of the Northern Anhui Military Region.

On the eve of the 1955 award, Liang Congxue was proposed to be awarded the title of major general, ** the boss learned that he stood up for Liang Congxue, and finally Liang Congxue was awarded the title of lieutenant general, and at the same time awarded him three first-class medals, whether it is seniority or military merits, Liang Congxue awarded the title of lieutenant general is appropriate.

Due to the serious sequelae of the injury, Liang Congxue was assessed as a second-class B disability, the old injury had a great impact on him, in 1964, due to injury Liang Congxue had to retire from the post, on April 7, 1973, Liang Congxue died of illness at the age of 70.
