Honda has officially unveiled two all-electric concept cars called the "Honda 0", which are the "Saloon" and "Space-Hub". Both new cars are designed based on Honda's latest philosophy and feature Honda's new logo. According to the plan, the two models will be launched in the North American market first in 2026, and then gradually rolled out in other regions.
The name of the "Honda 0" series has a profound meaning. The number "0" represents both the origin of Honda and the new starting point of the brand's electrification. In addition, it is one of Honda's goals to pursue zero environmental load throughout its corporate activities and throughout its product life cycle, as well as zero fatalities in motorcycle and automobile traffic accidents.
In addition to the new naming and design, Honda also announced an important strategic change to the brand. The current "H" marking system, which has been in use since 1981, will receive a major update. The newly designed "H" logo will be applied to new electric vehicles, including the Honda 0 series of BEVs. The new logo is designed to increase the opening width on the basis of the original design, symbolizing Honda's goal of expanding mobility and serving users.
Saloon is a concept car of Honda cars that belongs to the "Honda 0" series. The Saloon is very unique in terms of design, with a rounded bullet look, and the front grille position is also equipped with "back" daytime running lights to create a deep visual effect. As the flagship model, the Saloon has a low enough body, but the interior space is not to be underestimated.
The "Space-Hub" is one of Honda's "Honda 0" series of all-electric concept cars, which is positioned as an all-electric MPV, and the vehicle adopts a streamlined body shape, which is not only beautiful, but also helps to reduce wind resistance and improve driving efficiency. In particular, its front windshield has a large area and an inclination angle of nearly 45 degrees, which has good friendliness to wind resistance.
Both models are based on Honda's latest design concept and feature Honda's new logo, which will be used on new electric vehicles, including the Honda 0 series of BEVs.
In terms of product strategy, Honda has positioned this series of new products as the brand's "second venture", taking the opportunity to accelerate the implementation of its electric vehicle (EV) strategy and strive to achieve the goal of "carbon neutrality" by 2050.
