"As long as you study hard, we will continue to help. "Just after the Spring Festival holiday, students are about to usher in a new semester. In order to let students in difficulty have no worries and study with peace of mind, on February 20, the Lecheng Street Overseas Chinese Federation launched a new round of pairing assistance activities. On the morning of the same day, the staff of the Overseas Chinese Federation of the street, together with the caring people who helped in pairs, went to Xianxi and Huwu to give grants to students in need.
It is reported that a total of 19 students in need have been helped in this pairing activity, of which 4 are new personnel this year. 20-year-old Xiao Jin (not her real name) lives in Gexi Village, Huwu Township, where her father was bedridden when she was in primary school, and the family lost its breadwinner. After learning about the situation, the Overseas Chinese Federation of Lecheng Street established a twinning relationship with entrepreneur Wu Fangzhong, and Wu Fangzhong has sponsored her to go to school for 9 years. With the help of Wu Fangzhong, Xiaojin studied very hard and was admitted to Hangzhou Normal University, and in a blink of an eye, she was already a junior majoring in Japanese, and she would go as a tutor on weekdays to supplement her life. "I am grateful for Uncle Wu's help. Xiao Jin said that after graduation, she hopes to find a good job to help her family improve their living conditions.
Xiao Chen (pseudonym), who also lives in Gexi Village, is two years younger than Xiao Jin and is in his third year of high school majoring in CNC at Liu Vocational Technical School. Xiao Chen has lived with his grandparents since he was a child, and the year before last, his grandmother unfortunately passed away, and his weekday tuition and living expenses were maintained by his grandfather's pension. To this end, the Federation of Overseas Chinese in Lecheng Street arranged for it to be paired with Ruan Guili, and this year is the third year. For the grandfather and grandson, this help is tantamount to sending charcoal in the snow.
When it comes to student aid, I will treat it as a lifelong career. At the scene of pairing assistance, Chen Hongsheng, an entrepreneur in the overseas Chinese community, said emotionally. Xiao Chen, the student he helped before, has successfully graduated from college this year and successfully found a job as a clerk. This time, he paired up with Xiao Liao (pseudonym), who was only 8 years old.
Among the caring people who have paired up to help, there are many people like Chen Hongsheng who have paired up with multiple students. Zhang Min, vice chairman of the Federation of Overseas Chinese in Lecheng Street, has previously helped 2 students in need, not only helping them graduate successfully and find jobs. Now, he has helped the third pair, Xiao Zhang (pseudonym), a sixth-grade student from Xianxi Town.
It has been 27 years since the pairing assistance activity of the Lecheng Street Overseas Chinese Federation, and the team has expanded from the initial 1 person to 70 people, and this year it has ushered in 3 caring people such as Zhao Pingping, Lin Shaoya, and Tang Zhenmei. At present, a total of 70 students in need of help have been paired, and my heart is really full of pride and joy to watch them grow up safely, go on to higher education, find jobs and start a new life. Zhou Jing, chairman of the Federation of Overseas Chinese in Lecheng Street, said that the Federation of Overseas Chinese will still organize student assistance activities to help more students in need.
