"My Art List" Spring Festival Theme Planning "Folk Art Research Winter Camp" has officially opened!
On December 22, 2023 (local time), the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution by consensus to designate the Spring Festival (Lunar New Year) as a United Nations holiday. On the occasion of the Spring Festival in the Year of the Dragon, we visit famous artists and explore millennium culture, respectively in Langzhong, Sichuan, Jincheng, Shanxi and Chaozhou, Guangdong, to present you with a list of folk customs and folk arts about artworks, historical knowledge, and cultural life during the Spring Festival.
Waiting for you in Jincheng
Before going to Jincheng, we first visited Mr. Han Meilin, an 88-year-old artist. He is still the old naughty boy who loves the New Year the most. The Spring Festival is approaching, Mr. Han Meilin is busy writing blessing characters and creating, and he uses a cute dragon baby to extend the most beautiful wishes for the Year of the Dragon!
Jincheng City is located in the southeast of Shanxi Province, after the wax moon, here to welcome the New Year's Spring rehearsal activities, has been in full swing preparations.
Nowadays, different historical versions of the Kangxi Dictionary are partly housed in the Chinese Dictionary Museum in the Imperial Palace. Exploring the evolution of Chinese characters in the Kangxi Dictionary is like knocking on the door of history in silence.
Xiangyu Castle has a majestic appearance, and 72 Tibetan caves are scattered, arranged on both sides. The mansion built in the era of cold weapons to resist the rogue invaders silently interprets the four big characters of "protecting the family and defending the country" to the extreme with the architectural form.
The folk fire in Dayang Ancient Town is diverse and lively. The cast and crew of Shehuo change into costumes every festival, as if they have stepped out of the ...... from ancient timeFolk customs are not only a kind of memory inheritance, but also a kind of physical and emotional inheritance.
The ironsmiths who couldn't go home for the New Year must have never thought that the molten iron reflected in their eyes could also pass through thousands of years, light up the mountains and ravines, and be as bright as a galaxy in the cold night of the north. With the wisdom of life and the romantic mind, human beings have more than just the past.
Visit the Treasure Museum, explore the historical sites, watch the fire, watch the iron flowers, and eat a bowl of steaming dumpling noodles. Dumpling noodles may seem simple, but they are full of unique local flavors: the production process of noodles and the way of pressing noodles all give us a close understanding of the handmade food in Shanxi, a major noodle province.
110-year-old Mr. Ma Shitu sent "blessing" to Langzhong
Ma Shitu, formerly known as Ma Qianmu, is 110 years old and a famous writer in China.
In 2007, Ma Lao was appointed as an "honorary citizen" by Langzhong City, Sichuan Province. We inherited his indissoluble bond with this ancient city on the banks of the Jialing River, and took the word "Fu" from Ma Lao's hand to bring this blessing to Langzhong.
Langzhong has a long history, and the Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu was the "promotion ambassador" of this place. He left a famous sentence here that "victory in Langzhong can be broken, and the south of Langzhou is rare in the world". As one of the birthplaces of Chinese New Year culture, Langzhong was awarded the title of "Hometown of Chinese New Year Culture" by the China Folk Literature and Art Association.
The 5th National Young and Middle-aged Literary and Art Workers Ding Dong and Han Lu accompanied us and carried out a journey through time and space in the ancient city of Langzhong.
Along the way, we kept meeting local "celebrities": the old man of the Spring Festival with red envelopes to tell everyone about the historical origin of the Spring Festival from the perspective of the astronomical calendar. The 71-year-old "Spring Girl" inherits four generations of family learning, saying and singing spring for the little campers. In addition, there are dragon and lion dance performances, shadow puppet performances, ......and a series of Spring Festival folk activities.
Among them, the "Langzhong Gate God Painting" is the most unique Spring Festival symbol here. The prototype of the door god painting in the ancient city of Langzhong was originally from the god (shēn) 荼 (shū) yu (yù) base (lǜ) in the "Classic of Mountains and Seas". Painting the door god on the door of the house reflects the Chinese cultural concept of "home". We invited the inheritors of the Langzhong Door God Painting to hand-paint the door gods with the young campers, and painted their own beautiful vision of home in one stroke.
Chaozhou is very "old" and very "trendy".
Before going to Chaozhou, the program team visited Mr. Chang Shana with a blooming phalaenopsis. Mr. Chang Shana is an art and design educator and art designer, and she has been involved in the design of the architectural decoration of the façade of the Great Hall of the People and the architectural decoration of the banquet hall. He also wrote all his life and recorded the beauty of various flowers.
With this beauty, we went to Chaozhou, Guangdong, to find the winter flowers and winter beauty in the south.
Spending the Spring Festival in Chaozhou, Guangdong, has a completely different feeling from Langzhong in Sichuan and Jincheng in Shanxi. We came to Chaozhou at the recommendation of Mr. Pan Lusheng, chairman of the China Folk Literature and Art Association, because the folk customs here are relatively intact. There is a thick atmosphere of fireworks rising between the blue bricks and gray tiles, and we also have a Spring Festival version of Chaozhou City Walk here.
The first station is on the Guangji Bridge, one of the four famous bridges in ancient China, and uses English singing and dancing as a way to open Chaozhou. Visiting the "behind-the-scenes base" of "Xinghua Street" in Jinshi Town is very new to the children of the research camp, and the campers send Spring Festival couplets to the flower farmers and flower arrangers who are busy for the New Year. Admire the Chaozhou wood carving and Chaozhou embroidery ...... in the Huanggong Ancestral HallOf course, there is no less than a Chinese New Year's Eve dinner full of homophonic stalks and good intentions.
At the beginning of the lanterns, the carp dance, dragon dance, and lion dance appeared, and a small lantern festival lit up the night sky.
A festival in life, a life in a festival
Keep the heart of culture and create the beauty of life. Along the way, we savor the festival in our lives and experience life in the festival.
The program reproduces the customs and customs of Langzhong, Jincheng and Chaozhou, and the historical features of representative buildings, and also shows the guardianship of traditional culture by dozens of inheritors of intangible cultural heritage. Although we are separated by mountains and seas, we gather here in the same culture and art!Reporter Xue Xujie.
