Order-sensitive period
In the process of a child's development, the order-sensitive period is a critical stage, which usually appears in the early childhood development stage, when the child has a high sensitivity and need for order and regularity in the environment.
As a parent, taking appropriate measures to cope with this stage will not only help your child's mental health development, but also lay a solid foundation for their long-term growth. Here are some of the specific steps I've taken to help my child through a sensitive period of order, and the positive impact of these measures.
1.Establish a consistent routine: Make sure your child has a routine in their daily routine, such as waking up, eating, playing, and going to bed, to meet their need for order.
2.Create an organized environment: Organize your home so that everything has a fixed place so your child can easily find and return it.
3.Foresee changes: When plans change, I let my child know in advance to give them time to prepare and adapt.
4.Enhance choice: Encourage children to make choices in their daily lives, such as choosing which clothes to wear or which toys to play with, to enhance their sense of autonomy and control.
5.Listen and respect: Listen carefully to your child's opinions and feelings, respect their needs, and help them understand and express their emotions through dialogue.
In the process of taking the above series of measures, the psychological development needs of children in the process of growth are deeply considered.
1.Children are born with a strong need for stability and fitness, which stems from their pursuit of a sense of security, and only in a stable and sustainable environment can children feel safe, so that they are more willing to explore and try new things.
2.As children grow up, they also gradually show a sense of autonomy and control. As they grow older, they begin to realize that they have the right to take responsibility for their actions and choices as an independent individual. To meet this need, children are given more autonomy at the right time to participate in the decision-making process, thus developing their independent thinking skills and sense of responsibility. At the same time, children are encouraged to take the initiative to take on some tasks in their daily lives, such as tidying up their own rooms and completing homework, to enhance their self-control.
3.Meeting children's psychological development needs is important for developing their self-confidence and sense of security. When children feel safe in a stable and comfortable environment, they are more likely to build self-confidence, and the building of self-confidence will further promote the development of their emotional regulation and social adaptability.
In the process of implementing these measures, we will inevitably encounter some challenges.
1.The child's resistance to the new environment. When a child moves from a familiar environment to a completely new one, they may feel uneasy, fearful, and uncomfortable. This sentiment can lead to a rejection of new rules and arrangements, or even rebellion. In order to help children gradually adapt to their new environment, we need to adopt a strategy of patient guidance. We can help them build a positive attitude towards their new environment by communicating positively with them, explaining the meaning of the new rules and arrangements, and providing support and comfort.
2.It is also a challenge for children to become overly dependent on daily routines. In a new environment, such as kindergarten or school, children need to adjust to new routines and schedules. However, as they have become accustomed to the routines and rhythms of the family, they may have difficulty adjusting to the new arrangement. To overcome this challenge, we can adopt a strategy of gradual adaptation. First, we can break down the new routines and schedules into small steps that guide your child to adapt step by step. For example, we can start with a simple schedule and gradually add more activities and provisions. At the same time, we need to be flexible and adjust the rules according to the child's response and needs. This can help your child gradually adjust to the new routine and reduce their discomfort.
3.In addition to the above two challenges, we may also face other difficulties and problems. Therefore, in the process of solving these challenges, we need to keep an open mind and flexible thinking. We can try different methods and strategies to adapt to the child's individual differences and developmental changes. At the same time, we need to collaborate with other educators, parents, and experts to share experiences and resources to find the best solutions. Through continuous hard work and perseverance, we believe that children can overcome these challenges and provide a good environment for children to grow up.
These measures have a positive impact on the child's behavior and mood. I found that the child became more cooperative and emotionally stable. They are better able to handle change and demonstrate greater adaptability and problem-solving. To assess these effects, I observe the child's daily behavior, communicate with teachers and other parents, and have regular family meetings where the child shares his feelings and progress.
1.The children's sense of cooperation has improved significantly. For example, in group activities, they will take the initiative to share tasks and help each other complete tasks together. In addition, they have learned to listen to others and respect different points of view, which is very beneficial in developing their team spirit.
2.The children's ability to manage their emotions has also been greatly improved. In the face of setbacks and difficulties, they are able to remain calm and actively seek solutions to problems. This gives them more confidence and courage to try new things when they are challenged. This positive attitude is very important for their future studies and lives.
Through these careful measures and strategies, I helped the child to get through the sensitive period of order. This process not only strengthens the child's self-management skills, but also deepens the parent-child relationship between us. As parents, we need to recognize that every child is unique and their needs and responses will be different. Therefore, we need to be patient, flexible and creative when dealing with the sensitive period of order to ensure that children receive the best possible support and guidance at this critical stage.
