The reservoir is located in the northernmost part of the new and old kinetic energy conversion starting area in Jinan, on the south bank of the Tuxiao River, west of the Muma River, east of the Qiji River, and northeast of the Taiping Street station, with a total planned storage capacity of about 1200 million cubic meters, water supply scale of 800,000 cubic meters per day, estimated total investment of more than 120 billion yuan. "The Taiping Reservoir is generally pentagonal, with a length of 4 from east to west7 km, 3 long from north to south3 km, the water surface area of the reservoir is 101 square kilometer. It is understood that the Taiping Reservoir has been included in the national "14th Five-Year Plan" for Water Security and the "Implementation Plan for the Construction of Jinan's New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion Starting Area", and has been included in the relevant provincial and municipal plans and key projects in the 14th Five-Year Plan. At present, the relocation of the Taiping Reservoir has been officially launched, and the reservoir is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026 and has water supply conditions in 2027.
On January 2, the Jinan Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment accepted the environmental impact assessment report of the Jinan Taiping Reservoir Project of Jinan City Investment Group. The report makes it clear that the proposed Taiping Reservoir covers an area involving the Taiping drinking water source protection area, and the water source involved in the project has been revoked, and the procedures for adjusting the scope of the water source protection area are being handled. Among them, the Taiping Reservoir (Phase I) covers an area of 107095 hectares, the maximum storage capacity of the reservoir is 105.98 million cubic meters, the dead storage capacity is 15.63 million cubic meters, and the regulated storage capacity is 90.35 million cubic meters; There are two water supply tunnels in Jinan and Shanghe directions, and the design water supply scale is 83 cubic meters per second, 04 cubic meters per second.
After the completion of the reservoir, it will become the third largest reservoir in Jinan after the Xueye Reservoir and the Wohushan Reservoir, mainly supplying water to the starting area of Jinan's new and old kinetic energy conversion, while taking into account the production and domestic water of Jiyang District, Shanghe County and the five districts of Jinan City, which will effectively improve the water resource storage capacity of the area north of the Yellow River in Jinan City, further optimize the water resource allocation pattern of Jinan City, and support high-quality economic and social development.
