Northwest A&F University is a key university directly under the Ministry of Education, the national "985 Project" and "211 Project", and the first batch of universities selected for the national "world-class university and first-class discipline".
The school is located in Yangling, Shaanxi, the birthplace of Chinese agricultural civilization and a national agricultural high-tech industry demonstration zone.
The university has a graduate school and 28 colleges (departments and institutes), a total of 14 postdoctoral mobile stations, 16 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 28 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees, 2 doctoral professional degree authorized categories, 17 master's professional degree authorized categories, and 77 undergraduate majors.
At present, there are 7 national key disciplines and 2 national key (cultivation) disciplines; 11 disciplines, including agricultural science, botany and zoology, and engineering, are ranked in the top 1% of ESI global subject rankings, and 2 disciplines of agricultural science, botany and zoology are ranked among the top 1 in ESI.
Northwest A&F University has a number of characteristic majors and ace majors, such as forestry, food science and engineering, grape and wine engineering, soil and water conservation and desertification control, agricultural water conservancy engineering, agriculture and forestry economic management, veterinary medicine, etc.
