With the rapid development of science and technology, new materials are playing an increasingly important role in various fields. In this context, as an industry leader, Tongcheng New Materials is actively engaged in the research and development of new materials, and is well aware of the importance of young scientific research strength. Therefore, Tongcheng New Materials, together with the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and Shanghai Tongcheng Public Welfare Association, jointly initiated and established the "Tongcheng Youth R&D", aiming to cultivate and motivate young scientific researchers and promote the innovation and development of new chemical materials.
At the first annual conference of "Red Path Youth R&D" and the Youth Roundtable of New Chemical Materials, Li Shousheng, President of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, emphasized the key role of young talents in the future development of the chemical industry. He said that young talents should seize the historic opportunity of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, and jointly promote the innovation and development of new chemical materials from three dimensions: improving the basic understanding of chemistry, strengthening the organization of innovative teams and incentives.
Zhang Liqun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, also attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Green and Low-carbon Development of China's Rubber Materials". He explained the development and challenges of green and low-carbon rubber materials in simple terms, and provided valuable academic guidance for young scientific researchers.
Academician Jian Xigao had high hopes for the award-winning young scientists, and he said that he was deeply pleased to see the achievements of these outstanding young scientists. He hoped that young scientists would continue to work hard, make bright spots, and become role models and role models. At the same time, he also put forward expectations for the "Tongcheng Youth R&D", hoping that the first will continue to grow bigger and stronger and exert greater influence.
At the meeting, Director Zhao Ming introduced the annual report of "Tongcheng Youth R&D**" and officially announced the funding list of the first "Tongcheng Youth R&D**". Professor Jiang Xiaobin from Dalian University of Technology, Researcher Yang Jianping from Donghua University, Associate Professor Zhang Rufan from Tsinghua University, Researcher Zhu Yunqing from Tongji University, and Associate Professor Bao Yueping from Nankai University stood out from 123 competitors for their outstanding performance in scientific research projects related to the green development of petrochemical industry.
At the subsequent Youth Roundtable on New Chemical Materials, the five winners shared their research results and experiences. Their research projects cover membrane separation engineering, electrocatalytic conversion and recycling, radiant refrigeration materials, lignin-based environmentally friendly polymer synthesis and performance, and the removal of persistent organic pollutants from chemical wastewater. These research projects are not only innovative and exploratory, but also of great significance for promoting the innovation of the new energy industry and responding to major issues such as global climate change.
Zhou Jianhui, vice chairman of Tongcheng New Materials Group and chairman of Tongcheng Public Welfare Association, congratulated five outstanding young chemists on winning this award. He said that these research projects are both creative and social, and they deserve to stand out from the many participating projects. He hoped that everyone would achieve scientific research results and industrialize them, and make important contributions to the development of China's chemical industry. At the same time, he also said that Tongcheng participated in, initiated and supported such a nationwide public welfare "encouragement and incentive" project in the field of chemical and new materials, and witnessed the successful implementation and fruition of the project. This is also to practice the development concept of "harmonious coexistence between man and nature", to serve the needs of the future society with the heart of chemistry, to build a community of life between man and nature, and to create a "innovation-driven" new atmosphere of Chinese materials science and chemical engineering.
