Sanxingdui is a site of an ancient civilization located on the south bank of the Yazi River in the northwest of Guanghan City, Sichuan Province, China, and is 3,000 to 5,000 years old. It is the largest range, the longest duration, and the richest cultural connotation of ancient cities, ancient countries, and ancient Shu cultural sites found in southwest China so far, and is known as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of mankind in the 20th century. Many precious cultural relics have been unearthed at the Sanxingdui site, including bronze Daliren, bronze masks, bronze sacred trees, etc., which show the unique charm and high level of development of ancient Shu culture.

The Classic of Mountains and Seas is an important document in ancient China and is known as one of the three great strange books of ancient times. It mainly describes the geography of mountains and rivers, animals and plants, myths and legends, witchcraft, religion and other contents of ancient China, covering geography, history, mythology, astronomy, animals, plants, medicine, religion, anthropology, ethnology, oceanography and history of science and technology in ancient China.

The Classic of Mountains and Seas is divided into 18 volumes, including five volumes of the Classic of Mountains, eight volumes of the Classic of the Sea, four volumes of the Great Wilderness Classic, and one volume of the Classic of the Sea. It takes mountains as the key and water as the purpose, and describes in detail the geographical environment and natural resources of ancient China, including mountains, rivers, lakes, mineral resources, animal and plant species, etc. At the same time, it also records many myths, legends and folklore stories, such as gods, monsters, mysterious creatures, etc., which are full of fantasy and mystery.

The Classic of Mountains and Seas is not only a geographical chronicle, but also an encyclopedia of ancient social life. It reflects the characteristics of the ancient Chinese people's way of thinking, philosophical concepts, religious beliefs, literature and art, and provides important materials for us to understand ancient culture, history, philosophy and other aspects. At the same time, it has also had a profound impact on the literature, art, history and other fields of later generations, and is known as one of the treasures of Chinese culture.

There are various explanations and speculations about the coincidences between Sanxingdui and the Classic of Mountains and Seas. On the one hand, there are some similarities between the cultural relics unearthed in Sanxingdui and the description in the "Classic of Mountains and Seas", such as the nine bronze birds on the Sanxingdui Bronze Sacred Tree echoing the description of the ten-day dwelling on the Fusang Sacred Tree in the "Classic of Mountains and Seas". In addition, in the ancient Shu civilization where the Sanxingdui site is located, it is of great significance to plant mulberry and raise silkworms, and the original meaning of Fusang is two mulberry trees that support each other, which also provides a certain basis for the connection between the two.

On the other hand, some scholars believe that these coincidences may have been accidental or due to the complexity of ancient cultural transmission and exchange. They believe that the Sanxingdui culture and the myths and legends described in the Classic of Mountains and Seas may have developed independently, and in some ways similar characteristics appeared.

In short, the connection and coincidence between Sanxingdui and the Classic of Mountains and Seas is still a subject that needs to be studied in depth. In the future, with the continuous development of archaeology and cultural research, we may have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of these issues.
