Loquat has a long flowering period and generally blooms between December and February. The Ming Dynasty's "Qunfang Spectrum" praised loquat as "autumn sprout, winter flowers, spring fruits, summer ripeness, preparation of the four seasons, and other things are incomparable", so it has a very high value in garden aesthetics.
