In the autumn of 1955, for the first time in the history of our army, a large-scale award of titles was held to commend the generals who had contributed to the victory of the revolution and the founding of New China, and more than 1,000 generals were awarded this time.

What is little known is that as early as nine years ago, our army held a small-scale award, when six people were awarded the corresponding military ranks. So what were the achievements of these six generals later?

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the Northeast became the focus of contention between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. In order to establish and consolidate the base areas in the northeast, the higher authorities dispatched a large number of cadres and elite troops from various liberated areas to work in the northeast.

Peng Zhen, Ye Jizhuang, Wu Xiuquan, Duan Zijun and Mo Chun went to Shenyang with six advance team members, which was still under the control of the Soviet Far East Red Army and needed to coordinate with the Red Army.

However, the officers of the Red Army all had military ranks, while Peng Zhen and others did not, which caused some difficulties in communication. In order to facilitate the work, the Military Commission decided to confer the corresponding military ranks on Peng Zhen, ** and others.

Peng Zhen, ** and Ye Jizhuang were awarded the rank of lieutenant general. Peng Zhen was born in Quwo, Shanxi Province, in 1902, and devoted himself to the revolution in his early years, mainly responsible for the labor movement. In 1929, he was betrayed as a traitor and resolutely fought against the enemy in prison.

After the outbreak of the full-scale Anti-Japanese War, he served in the Jinchaji anti-Japanese base area, and later returned to Yan'an to serve as the vice president of the ** Party School. After the end of the Anti-Japanese War, Peng Zhenhe and others entered the Northeast as an advance team and did a lot of hard and meticulous work.

Peng Zhenhe** was an important leader of the Communist Party of China, and they made great contributions to revolution and construction. Peng Zhen was elected chairman of the National People's Congress, and his official rank was at the national level; **Served as a member of the Politburo Standing Committee, with the official level of Zhengguo.

The two of them, along with Ye Jizhuang, were awarded the rank of lieutenant general and made outstanding contributions to the prosperity and development of the country.

6-member advance team, Peng Zhen, ** Ye Jizhuang lieutenant generals, Major General Wu Xiuquan, later *** work, ambassador to Yugoslavia. He was not awarded in 1955. Later, he served as Deputy Chief of the General Staff.

Duan Zijun and Mo Chun have relatively little qualifications, with the rank of colonel, director of the Northeast Liaison Bureau, and set up four radio stations to ensure communication and liaison with the troops entering the customs. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Duan Zijun successively held a number of positions and died of illness in 2006 at the age of 93.

Let's talk about Mo Chunhe, a hero from Langzhong, Sichuan. He joined the Red Army at the age of 17 and then followed his troops in fierce battles with the enemy in the Hubei-Henan-Anhui base areas and in the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet region, and achieved many victories.

After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he entered the ** Confidential Section as a section chief and made important contributions to the country's secret work. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he entered the Northeast with **, Peng Zhen and others, and successively served as the deputy director of the Confidential Division of the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army and the director of the Confidential Division of the Siye Command.

In 1955, Mo Chunhe was awarded the rank of colonel for his outstanding performance and contributions. And in 1964, he was promoted to major general and became one of the founding generals.

Of the six people who entered the Tohoku, he was the only one who received a military rank at the time of the Great Conferral and his deeds and spirit will always be remembered by us.
