In the first game of the singles competition, one of the participating players was named Dong Liuping. Dong Liuping recalled that although the age gap between him and Mr. Li Zhengyun was nearly 20 years, they had a friendship for many years. Mr. Li Zhengyun used to teach at the county vocational school. Dong Liuping said that under the guidance of teacher Li Zhengyun, he fell in love with playing table tennis, and only this hobby is the only hobby, and he often plays table tennis to exercise, and his body is good.
Speaking of playing table tennis, teacher Li Zhengyun was full of interest: "I have been playing table tennis since I was ten years old, about the second or third grade, and there is a teacher named Gu Kun in our school, who made a table tennis table out of a wooden board and took us to play. Table tennis was particularly popular in the sixties and seventies of the last century, and I started playing since then, and I have never put down my racket for the rest of my life. ”

After retiring, Li Zhengyun teamed up with Li Xiuchun and Pu Yingzhong to participate in table tennis competitions organized by the Municipal Veteran Cadres Bureau many times, and they all achieved good results.
In 2012, the village invested more than 800,000 yuan to widen the road and build a public welfare park, which made the environment better. That Spring Festival, with the support of everyone, the retired *** held a table tennis competition, and from that year on, the competition was held every year, and it was only suspended for three years from 2020 to 2023.
