On January 26, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced the approval of the environmental impact report on the 800,000-ton-a-year coal-to-olefin project of Xinjiang Shanneng Chemical Co., Ltd. (Huanshen 2024 No. 7).
The project is located in the Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, using coal as raw material, using pulverized coal pressurized gasification, purification, methanol synthesis, methanol to olefins and other processes, and implanting green hydrogen coupling to olefins, and a new 800,000-ton-a-year coal-to-olefins project.
The total investment of the project is 2085.8 billion yuan, including 16 percent in environmental protection6.7 billion yuan, accounting for 80%。The construction content of the project includes the main project, storage and transportation project, public works, environmental protection project and supporting project. The main project of the project mainly includes 13 sets of production equipment, including air separation, gasification, transformation and thermal equipment, low-temperature methanol washing, sulfur heating, methanol synthesis, methanol to olefins, olefin separation, steam cracking, C4 to 1-butene, polyethylene, polypropylene and water electrolysis devices; Public and auxiliary projects include power stations, water supply and drainage systems, flare systems, etc.; Storage and transportation projects include coal transportation storage and transportation systems, tank farms and product warehouses, etc.; Environmental protection projects mainly include waste gas treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities and solid waste treatment facilities.
The hydrogen production unit of water electrolysis in this project adopts alkaline electrolysis method for production12000 nm3 h hydrogen, 6000 nm3 h oxygen. The hydrogen produced by-product of the methanol plant and the hydrogen produced by the water electrolysis hydrogen production unit are used as raw materials for the production of methanol to olefins unit, polypropylene unit and sulfur ** unit.
