The Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project is one of the 172 major water conservancy projects in the country, with a total length of 1132 km, with an annual water supply of 170.8 billion cubic meters. Among them, the Liyuzhou pumping station is the largest of the three pressurized pumping stations of the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project, and it is also the water intake source and key construction line of the project. The pumping station is equipped with 8 sets of vertical single-stage, single-suction volute centrifugal pumps with a single capacity of 9 MW, with a design flow rate of 80 cubic meters per second, which is the centrifugal pump with the largest flow amplitude and head change in China, all of which are developed by Harbin Electric Motor.
Liyuzhou large pump adopts a wide range of variable speed operation mode, efficient and stable operation in the range of 50% 105% rated speed, and is currently the largest large water pump with variable speed range in China. In the design, the scientific research team of Harbin Electric Motor realized the design of the large pump without hump for the first time, which effectively broadened the variable speed and stable operation range of the large pump, enhanced the adjustment ability of the pump set, and ensured the safety and reliability of the large-scale variable speed adjustment operation of the Liyuzhou pump unit. Through the collaborative optimization design of impeller, guide vane and overflow components, Harbin Electric Motor has achieved the goal of high efficiency and energy saving of the pump unit, making the energy efficiency index of Liyuzhou large pump reach the international leading level.
