How to handle the CE certification of laser sensors

Mondo Digital Updated on 2024-02-01

Laser Sensor: A sensor that utilizes laser technology to make measurements. It consists of a laser, a laser detector, and a measurement circuit. The laser sensor is a new type of measuring instrument, which has the advantage of being able to achieve non-contact long-distance measurement, fast speed, high precision, large range, strong anti-light and electrical interference ability, etc.

Laser sensors exported to the EU need to apply for CE certification. CE certification is the passport for products to enter the EU and the European ** free zone market. CE certification is a kind of commitment from enterprises to consumers, which increases consumers' trust in products; Products bearing the CE mark will reduce the risk of being sold on the European market. Obtaining a CE certification from an EU Notified Body provides a greater degree of trust from consumers and market surveillance authorities; It can effectively prevent the occurrence of irresponsible allegations; It will become technical evidence with legal force.

Laser sensor CE certification standard:

en61326-1:2013

The international standard EN61326-1:2013 applies to electrical equipment operating on batteries or grids, with an estimated voltage up to 1000 V AC or 1500 V DC, for professional, industrial or non-industrial, manufacturing, educational purposes, including the following equipment:

1. Test and measurement; Control; laboratory use;

2. Accessories for the above equipment.

The international standard EN61326-1:2013 also applies to:

equipment for residential, commercial and light industrial environments, as described in EN 61000-6-1;

equipment intended for use in industrial sites;

equipment used in laboratories with controlled electromagnetic environments;

Portable test and measurement equipment.

Information to be prepared for CE certification of laser sensors:

1. The name, trade name, and address of the manufacturer (EU Authorized Representative (EU Authorized Representative**)AR).

2. The model and number of the product.

3. Product instruction manual.

4. Safety design documents (key structural drawings, i.e., design drawings that can reflect the climbing distance, clearance, number of insulation layers and thickness).

5. Product technical conditions (or enterprise standards).

6. Electrical schematic diagram of the product.

7. Product circuit diagram.

8. List of key components or raw materials.
