This happened on February 2, when the EU convened the third EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum, inviting foreign ministers from more than 70 countries in East Asia, South Asia and Africa to participate.
This was supposed to be a platform to showcase the EU's influence and willingness to cooperate in the Indo-Pacific region, but it unexpectedly turned into a meeting to criticize the West, which made the EU lose face and exposed the West's double standards and hypocrisy in international affairs.
One of the main themes of the forum was to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which has been caused by the continued Israeli bombardment and blockade of the Gaza Strip. Nearly 10,000 people have died, hundreds of thousands** have been left homeless, infrastructure and vital goods have been severely damaged, and people are threatened with hunger, disease and death. Western countries, especially the United States, have turned a blind eye to Israel's atrocities, even providing military and political support to it, blocking UN Security Council ceasefire resolutions, and ignoring international law and human rights.
At the forum, the foreign ministers of many countries of the South spoke out one after another, condemning the double standards and moral degradation of the West, and calling on the EU to play a more active role in stopping Israeli aggression and restoring peace and stability in Gaza.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno pointed out that no country can be above international law, and the EU should stop supporting Israel, let alone the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for the Near East, which is the last hope of the people of Gaza.
Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Sabri warned that the West's different attitudes on the Palestinian and Ukrainian issues have seriously damaged the West's credibility and image. Foreign ministers from other countries have expressed similar views, leaving EU representatives speechless and smiling bitterly or laughing at themselves.
The embarrassment of the EU at this forum is actually the inevitable result of the arrogance and prejudice of the West in international affairs. The West has always believed that it is the leader of the world and the maker of rules, and that it can arbitrarily interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, treat different countries and regions at will, and impose its own values and interests at will.
However, with the multipolarization of the world and the rise of the countries of the South, the hegemony and moral superiority of the West no longer exist, and the double standards and hypocrisy of the West are increasingly questioned and opposed by the world.
Finally, what do you think about this matter, and let me talk about my superficial opinion:
The world has seen the double standard of the West. In the past few decades, it has been the West that has accused developing countries of not doing this, not doing that, and how you must ...... itWhat now?
Developing countries have woken up to the fact that many times, it is the West that is too double-standard, and what is beneficial to them, so they talk a lot about what rules, what international law, what is not beneficial to themselves, they ignore it, they open their eyes and say nonsense, and turn black and white upside down, even if sometimes they slap themselves in the face. Ukraine and Gaza, two simultaneous wars, completely different attitudes of the West, standards in **? Morality in **? Credibility again**?
In this world, under the leadership of the West, there is no standard of right and wrong at all, let alone credibility, only interests, only a position of standing in line, and there is no right or wrong.
