Hyzon Motors Inc ("Hyzon"), a hydrogen fuel cell technology developer and a global leader in zero-emission heavy-duty fuel cell trucks, announced that it has delivered four fuel cell trucks to Performance Food Group (PFG), a U.S.-based food distributor and marketer.
Parker Meeks, CEO of Hyzon, said the commissioning of these zero-emission trucks marks an important step towards the carbon reduction goals of PFG, Hyzon and the state of California. The launch of these vehicles is an important milestone for Hyzon, and we expect to gain valuable insights through actual operation." These vehicles are expected to help optimize Hyzon Motors' technology. Hyzon Motors is also working on the development of a next-generation 200kW fuel cell system.
The Hyzon fuel cell truck is expected to have a range of up to 350 miles and a hydrogen refueling time of 15 minutes. PFG plans to put these vehicles into service to deliver snacks, sweets and beverages to customers. The vehicles will use hydrogen from the hydrogen fueling station of Pilot Tr**el Centers LLC, North America's largest travel company and leading fuel and energy provider.
In August 2023, Hyzon successfully completed a demonstration run of a liquid hydrogen truck in Texas, which traveled continuously for 16 hours and covered more than 540 miles of commercial routes.
As part of the previous collaboration, PFG and HYZON will test the next generation of 200kW products. The two companies plan to collaborate on 15 200kW and another 30 fuel cell trucks.
