Popular science of traditional Chinese medicine: 8 disease signs that need to be alerted to when body parts become thicker.
In our daily lives, we sometimes find ourselves in certain parts of our body getting thicker, which can be a sign of a disease. As an experienced veteran TCM practitioner, I would like to introduce you to 8 conditions of thickening of body parts that need to be watched out for, as well as diseases that they may portend.
1.Fingers thickened.
Thickened fingers can be one of the early symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes joint inflammation and joint deformity. If your finger joints become swollen and stiff, especially in the morning, when you wake up, it is advisable to see your doctor for a check-up.
2.Thickening of the toes.
Thickening of the toes may be a manifestation of arteriosclerotic occlusive disease of the lower extremities. Arteriosclerosis occlusion of the lower limbs is caused by the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in the lower limbs, resulting in narrowing or occlusion of the arteries of the lower limbs, causing ischemia and hypoxia of the limbs. If you experience symptoms such as pain, coldness, paleness, numbness in your toes, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time.
3.The waist becomes thicker.
A thickening of the waist may be a sign of obesity or fatty liver. Obesity and fatty liver are both common metabolic diseases that are related to factors such as improper diet, lack of exercise, etc.
If you have symptoms such as fat and sagging around your waist, it is recommended to adjust your diet in time, strengthen exercise, and seek medical attention if necessary.
4.The neck becomes thicker.
A thickened neck may be a sign of an enlarged goiter. Goiter is a condition in which the thyroid gland is enlarged or atrophied due to too much or too little thyroid hormone production. If you experience symptoms such as swelling, pain, and difficulty breathing in your neck, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly.
