On February 16, the penultimate day of the Spring Festival holiday, the return traffic of the expressway increased significantly. Among them, the G40 Yangtze River Tunnel and Bridge in the conventional congestion section has the longest slow travel distance to the urban direction.
The reporter learned from the traffic command center of the Municipal Transportation Commission that as of 15 o'clock on the same day, the slow section of the city's expressway network was mainly concentrated in the direction of G40 to the urban area, including 8 kilometers behind the Yangtze River Tunnel, 13 kilometers behind the Yangtze River Bridge, and 6 kilometers behind Chen Hai.
Under the combined effect of Spring Festival reunion customs, holiday arrangements and free passage policies, the average daily flow of expressways during the Spring Festival in 2024 will be 90-940,000 vehicles**, a year-on-year increase of 8%-13%, of which the average daily flow of the Yangtze River Tunnel will reach 870,000 vehicles, an increase of about 10 percentage points year-on-year.
In the urban transportation center of the new district, the staff also paid attention to the G40 Gaodong toll station, the traffic flow from the direction of Chongming, and the import and export traffic flow of key highways such as Kangqiao toll S2 and S3. It is understood that during the Spring Festival holiday, the passenger flow of major scenic spots and parks in the new area and the monitoring data of 15 key large-scale supermarkets in the district have increased significantly compared with previous years. Zhao Bing, director of the Emergency Command Center of the District Emergency Management Bureau, said: "Citizens' willingness to travel is still relatively high, with an increase of more than 10% compared with 2019 and last year. ”
Despite the long queue distance, the vehicles in the Yangtze River Tunnel are still moving slowly towards the urban area. According to the person in charge of the traffic command center of the Municipal Transportation Commission, according to the analysis of previous experience, the penultimate day of the holiday is often the day with the highest return traffic on the expressway, such as the G40 Yangtze River Tunnel and Bridge to the urban direction, from about 10 o'clock in the morning, the phenomenon of vehicle slowing begins to appear, and it is expected to last until the evening or even about 24 o'clock that day. However, thanks to measures to control traffic flow, such as the installation of traffic lights, vehicles in the Yangtze River Tunnel are still able to flow, albeit at a slower pace.
In addition to the G40, the traffic conditions on the G2, G50, G60 and other highways were relatively good that day. According to the analysis of the Traffic Command Center of the Municipal Transportation Commission, on the one hand, many motorists choose to return off-peak, and on the other hand, it is also related to the fact that many citizens choose high-speed rail, airplanes and other public transportation during the Spring Festival holiday this year to go to destinations far away from Shanghai.
In order to ensure the smooth passage of the expressway during the festival and deal with emergencies in a timely manner, the staff of the Traffic Command Center of the Municipal Transportation Commission strengthened their duty. For citizens who have self-driving travel plans, the Traffic Command Center of the Municipal Transportation Commission reminds that in case of highway congestion, drivers also need to maintain a good attitude, and can choose to detour or leave the highway at the nearest exit, and continue driving on national highways or ordinary highways. In addition, at 24 o'clock on February 17, the expressway will end the free passage, the end time is subject to the time when the vehicle exits the toll gate, if the free time is about to end, but you have not yet reached the destination, you may wish to get off the highway from the nearest exit, and then re-enter the expressway.
At the same time, in order to facilitate passengers who take the train back late at night, on February 16 and 17, Hongqiao Railway Station Station of Metro Line 2 and Line 10 will be postponed to 2:30 the next day, and Hongqiao Railway Station Station of Line 17 will be postponed to 24 o'clock. Pudong International Airport Station of Line 2 will also operate fixed-point additional buses. In addition, the bus industry has opened a total of 25 Spring Festival special lines and 8 temporary special lines at Shanghai Railway Station, Hongqiao Hub, Shanghai South Railway Station, Pudong Airport, Shanghai West Railway Station, Shidongkou Wharf and other places to serve the return passenger flow.
