"Broken Pen in the Sick Gap".

Written by Shi Tiesheng read aloud by Zhang Eighty.

I have come to me through time, through landscapes, through the countryside and the city, and I have also come to me through others, through all others and the thoughts and dreams that arise from them. Everything along the way, some of which passed me by from now on, and some of which permanently settled in my soul, carved me, shaped me, tempered me, blended into me and became me. I was an unstoppable wandering spirit, a stream of water that converged all the way, a wisp of news in the vast universe, a law-abiding citizen and an unfettered dream.

Q: What would you like to say to teenagers by reading this passage aloud? A: Life is long and short, for example, seemingly inconspicuous stones begin to fuse, crack, and finally give birth to colorful colors from ancient times, and our eyes cannot enjoy them all in a lifetime. How to live a full and happy life in a limited life is a question that life leaves to everyone, so let's start looking for the answer now.

Q: From learning painting when you were a child to now deeply cultivating the art of carving, do you think there is anything consistent in the learning process?

A: I think the spiritual strength of consistency is perseverance. There are many elements that come to make a work: inspiration, love, observation, and precision. When the results are not seen, only by immersing themselves in it and stringing all the elements together at the right time can it be possible.

A: **I often tell me that the training of "eyesight" is particularly important in carving, when you can see the nail cover of your right thumb the size of a washbasin, your eyesight will pass. To do this, I put a blank piece of paper in front of the table, picked up the cashmere sweater and shook it in the air, so that the paper was full of tiny threads, and then counted them out bit by bit. At the same time, the small animals I raise are also good carves models, such as snails roaming the frontier, overeating hamsters, shy toads with fat bellies, motherly scorpion mothers, rattlesnake ...... fierce on the outside but gentle on the inside

Poison is inviolableQ: Do you have any favorite works?

A: One year I happened to get a rare piece of blue jade, and I was excited and a little embarrassed, because blue creatures in nature are very rare, and there are even fewer themes that can match such pure blue jade. Until one day I watched "Animal World", and a baby turtle that had just come out of its shell appeared in it, and I was instantly intrigued, and this was the inspiration I wanted most! So I began to create "Return", using the rare blue star stone in Bahrain stone, using the original color of the natural rough stone to carve a turtle out of its shell. It is not only a newborn baby turtle sitting on "Taiwan" (homonym: return), but also the urgent mood of the wanderer to return to his heart like an arrow.

ReturnQ: Have you encountered a bottleneck in your profession, and how do you deal with the negative emotions that arise from it?

A: The completion of a work requires repeated design and revision, and the expectation of "better" is likely to lead me to a piece of jade but not know where to start. When this happens, I usually put it down first and recharge my brain by reading, drawing, writing calligraphy, visiting museums, etc. In addition, in the face of some subtle negative emotions that have accumulated in my long-term creation, I will choose to exercise, preferably sweating profusely, and dilute the psychological fatigue with physical fatigue, just like Tyson said, "Everything will deceive you, but the sweat that has flowed will always be loyal".
