The war has been going on for more than three months, and if you can receive a letter from your relatives at this dangerous time of displacement, it will be comparable to ten thousand taels**! I was so anxious that I scratched my hair every day, and as a result, my gray hair became thinner and thinner, and I couldn't even insert a hairpin.

Sima Guang said that "the country is broken by mountains and rivers" means that Du Fu can see nothing but "mountains and rivers"; "The city is full of grass and trees" means that Chang'an is overgrown with weeds and is almost deserted; As for flowers and birds, they are supposed to be "entertaining things", but they make the author "cry when he sees them and feel sad when he hears them". All of this conveys a profound meaning.

This poem was written in August of the fifteenth year of Tianbao (756). In June, the Anshi rebellion captured Chang'an, and Du Fu was temporarily living in Yanzhou with his fleeing family. In July, Tang Suzong ascended the throne in Lingwu, and Du Fu was captured by the rebels on his way to defect, and then sent to Chang'an. Fortunately, he was not imprisoned because of his low official position. This poem was also written during Du Fu's time in Chang'an, and he wrote it on a moonlit night to remember his wife and children in Yanzhou.

The poem writes that the bright moon hangs in the sky tonight, but in the distant city of Yanzhou, the wife can only stare at the moon in a daze for a month. When I think of my young children, they still don't know why their mother is missing their father who is far away in Chang'an! The wife was quietly watching the house alone, and at this time, her hair must have been wet with the dew in the air, and the cold moonlight must have shone on her delicate arms. I don't know when I will be able to return home, leaning against the transparent curtains with my loved ones, and letting the moonlight dry the tears on the faces of the two of us.

This poem is similar to "Spring Hope", that is, seeing the brightness and beauty of the moonlight, but the sorrow of longing lingers in my heart. However, it is relatively more natural to express sad emotions triggered by the coolness of autumn nights and moonlight.

This poem was written in the second year of the Qianyuan Dynasty (759). At that time, Du Fu was in Qinzhou, and on the autumn night of Bailu this year, he missed his three brothers Du Ying, Du Guan and Du Feng who were far away in Henan and Shandong.

The poem writes that the current years of war have blocked people's roads and messages from each other, and in the late autumn, I suddenly heard the lonely geese in the sky chirping fiercely. This is a poem written by Du Fu in his later years. In April of the first year of Daizong Yongtai (765), Yan Wu died, and Du Fu led his family to leave the thatched cottage in Chengdu and drift on the Yangtze River by boat. When he wrote this poem, he was passing through the areas of Chongqing and Chungju. This year, Du Fu was 54 years old.

The first couplet of the poem does not appear with a verb, and is composed entirely of static imagery. Under the night sky, a gentle breeze blows the grassy banks, and only a small boat stands alone with a high mast on the river. As far as the eye can see, the stars fall on the vast field, and the bright moon spreads on the rushing river, as if it were gushing out of the Yangtze River. Thinking of himself, Du Fu said, how could he be famous all over the world because of his articles, and he has been an official for many years of aging and illness, so it is time to retire and go home. Living such a wandering life every day is like a sand gull flying lonely between heaven and earth.

The three or four sentences of this poem are quite similar to Li Bai's "Farewell to Jingmen", "The mountains follow the plains, and the rivers flow into the great wilderness". However, Li Bai wrote about the daytime scene, while Du Fu depicted the night scene, and incorporated the imagery of stars and bright moon. Moreover, "the stars hang down and the plains are wide" describes the riverbank, inheriting the first sentence; "The river enters the great wilderness" describes the surface of the river, and continues the second sentence. The two sentences of the neck couplet are "rhetoric to insight", Du Fu's reputation is indeed based on the excellence of his literary talents, and he retreated from officialdom not because of old age and illness. On the one hand, these two sentences emphasize their true situation in rhetoric, and on the other hand, they are also quite disappointed and helpless self-deprecation - because for Tang Dynasty poets such as Du Fu and Li Bai, becoming a literary scholar is far from satisfying their life ideals, and their real pursuit is to be able to make achievements in the field of political culture. The two sentences of the last couplet can better see the loneliness and misery in the author's heart, and the life of wandering the Yangtze River and living without a fixed place in his later years made him feel the insignificance and loneliness of facing nature, life and fate as a living individual.

It seems that seeing the continuous war on Guan Mountain in the north, seeing all this, the author who is holding on to the railing upstairs can't help but cry.

This poem can be called the eternal swan song of Yueyang Tower. The two lines of the poem of the jaw couplet sing about the immensity of Dongting Lake, showing the majestic momentum and the grand vision of the encompassing thousands. Qiu Zhaoao commented on this poem in "Detailed Notes on Du Poems", "When it comes to life and death, thousands of miles of love, it is really worthy of tears, the most miserable person in this pregnancy." Qiu Zhaoao wrote, "The farewell poem has reached this point, so that people can't bear to read it again." The poem writes that he was adrift in a foreign land, running around all day long, and this time he had to stop his horse and say goodbye to the lonely mausoleum of Fang Taiwei. Thinking of Mrs. Fang, the author burst into tears, and a piece of land under his feet was soaked; Looking up, I saw a broken cloud floating alone in the low sky, which looked even more sad and sad. When Fang Taiwei was alive, I played chess with him many times, and my admiration and joy at that time were like Xie An's Taifu when I accompanied the Eastern Jin Dynasty; Now that Taiwei is gone, I worship at his grave, which reminds me of Ji Za in the Spring and Autumn Period, and I came to sweep his grave with Xu Jun's beloved sword. What makes people feel very sad is that after the death of Fang Taiwei, his grave was so lonely and deserted, only to see the wildflowers in the forest falling, and only a few yellow warblers could be heard greeting the guests with their gentle cries.

Du Fu misses Fang Xuan, not only mourning for their previous friendship, but also saddened by the desolation behind Fang Xuan. At the same time, it is enough to show that Du Fu has an empathetic understanding of the loneliness encountered by Fang Xuan.

The first four lines recall the scene when Zhide left Chang'an to join Fengxiang, and the last four sentences describe the mood when he left Chang'an again and went to Huazhou. The author suffered this derogation, and his heart was resentful, and the sixth sentence "Transferring officials to the supreme level" is literally excusing the emperor, but it can also see the grievances in his heart.
