Sadhguru mentions in his Inner Engineering:
What is happiness? Happiness is a deep sense of pleasure in the heart. There are four types of pleasure.
Physical pleasure: If your body feels happy, it's calledHealth; If it's particularly pleasurable, it's calledComfortablePleasure in the mind: If your mind becomes pleasant, it's calledCalm; If it's very pleasurable, it's calledJoyEmotional pleasure: If your mood becomes pleasant, it's calledLove; If it's very pleasurable, it's calledCompassionEnergetic pleasure: If your energy becomes pleasurable, it's calledBliss; If it is extremely pleasant, it is calledEcstasy。And the anxiety mentioned in our title is just one type of emotion. It can be seen that our understanding of the level of happiness is not complete. The more we know, the more we can help us on the road to happiness.
The four pleasures above, this is everything we seek for happiness:Inner and outer pleasure。Inner pleasure embodies calmness, joy, and joy; When your outward situation is pleasant and satisfying, it will be labeled as a success.
Happiness is good for your health and good for building good relationships with others. But how many times in our lives do we spend the whole day in pleasure?
Our state of life is one of the above, sometimes happy, sometimes anxious, sometimes peaceful, sometimes manic. The same life energy can enter all of these states. If you could choose what state to go into, what would it be? The answer is obvious.
There's only one simple fact that stands in the way between you and your happiness:You allow your thoughts and emotions to follow external instructions rather than internal ones
Even if the world doesn't happen the way you want it to, at least your thoughts and emotions should happen the way you want it to. Now they don't listen to you eitherBecause you're managing your entire human body mechanism randomly
The way out lies in turning inward. In fact, all the pleasures we experience--- be it calm, joy, ecstasy,It's all a chemical reaction。With enough awareness, you can activate your system to a state where just breathing can bring great enjoyment.
It's important to remember that nothing will keep you satisfied. What human life desires is infinite expansionThat's the only thing that will make you completely satisfied. The thirst for spirituality is not cultivated and induced, it is an innate desire. But unless you treat it consciously, it won't blossom. Choices made due to incompetence that leave us incapable of being happy from the heart can complicate simple things in life.
Enlightenment is not an achievement, it is a return. The senses give you the feeling that you are experiencing something external, but you have never experienced anything external. When you realize that everything you experience is internal, this complete homecoming is enlightenment.
As far as our inner nature is concerned, there is only one principle, an unbounded integration. Both the material and social worlds need borders, and the world within us does not need any borders. The ecstasy of wanting to achieve infinite integration is our original state. The only thing you need to do is to follow the fact that all human experiences arise from within--- with or without external stimuli. That's all. If you can establish this awareness within you, your interactions with the outside will no longer be burdensome.
