On February 6th, "Drinking the Water of a River - Special Exhibition of Bronze Civilization in the Yangtze River Basin" was launched at the Guangdong Provincial Museum.
The special exhibition was hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Museum and co-organized by 18 cultural and museum units, including the Sichuan Museum, the Hunan Museum, the Anhui Museum, the Hubei Provincial Museum, the China Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing, and the Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan, Sichuan.
The exhibition brings together a total of 137 pieces (sets) of precious exhibits from Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Basin. This is the first time in Guangdong Province to systematically display the splendid civilization of the Bronze Age in the Yangtze River Basin to the audience.
On the opening day of the exhibition, the series of activities of "Celebrating the New Year in the Museum" in Guangdong Province was launched simultaneously at the Guangdong Expo. Long Jiayou, deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and director of the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics, introduced that during the Spring Festival, 385 museums in Guangdong Province will open more than 1,000 basic exhibitions, launch nearly 200 Spring Festival exhibitions and more than 400 colorful New Year's cultural activities, so that the audience and friends can spend a New Year holiday full of "dragon" and New Year's flavor.
