Hello, are you a sports student?

Mistaken for a "sports student", I was touched by my determination to wake up early and go for a morning run.

Today, I would like to talk to you about the habit of getting up early and running in the morning.

I woke up at 4:40 a.m. and looked at the weather forecast on my phone, which showed a temperature of 9 degrees with light rain. Open the curtains and look downstairs, the north wind is blowing, the ground is dry, it seems that you can go for a morning run outdoors, and suddenly a happy mood arises.

A small incident yesterday afternoon strengthened my determination to go out for a morning run.

The plot goes like this:

Around 2:10 p.m., I went to a friend's house to pick up something and waited downstairs.

Two female students walked in from not far away, and they looked to be in their teens and twenties.

Walking up to me, they stopped suddenly.

One of the girls, who was a little shorter, asked, "Hello, are you a sports student?" ”

I was a little confused, and I didn't have time to react, so I replied, "Is there something wrong?" ”

Then, another tall girl said: "You are a sports student: I was mistaken for a "sports student", and I felt the determination to get up early and go for a morning run.

Then, another tall girl said, "Are you a sports student?" Can you add a v? ”

I said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm not a sports student!" Subsequently, the two strange girls left.

For a post-80s uncle who has graduated from undergraduate for 12 years, I was really surprised that some students regarded me as a sports student.

Afterwards, I thought about it, maybe it was the dress and figure at the time that confused the other party, right?

On his feet, he wore a pair of fluorescent Chitu 6pro, wearing a blue shirt that can highlight his chest muscles, with a pair of light gray trousers, and a goetz sports watch on his left hand, coupled with a tall and well-proportioned figure, it is no wonder that he is regarded as a sports student.

Such oolong incidents have happened many times in my life in the past.

New colleagues mistake me for a young man who is ten years younger, and my friends often compliment me on my good energy state, etc. I think it must be because of my long-term insistence on exercising.

Looking back now, I have been maintaining a regular exercise habit for almost 8 years, but the exercise choices during this period have been adjusted several times according to the actual situation.

In 2016, this is my 4th year working in Shenzhen, and as a senior programmer, it has become commonplace to work overtime to catch up on projects.

Pursuing ideals, working hard, and maintaining a living, you can only use your spare time to exercise and improve your physical fitness.

So, I started to get into fitness (iron).

In order to save time, I chose a gym near the company, so that I could walk to it after work.

According to the plan, complete the strength training of the day, which mainly includes three major items: free barbell squat, deadlift, and bent row.

In this way, the fitness habit was maintained until I left Shenzhen in August 2020 and returned to work in Liuzhou.

On a basketball court, I suffered an accident and ruptured the Achilles tendon in my right leg, and after surgery, I spent more than a year recuperating.

After being completely **, I changed the sport to running.

On August 25, 2022, I started to do the daily "morning run, meditation and writing", and gradually, getting up early every day and running 5 kilometers in the morning became my daily habit, and it has continued to this day.

Every time I think of waking up early and running in the morning, I think of a quote from the Book of Navarre.

What I did was I decided that my physical health was the number one priority in my life, and that it was a priority over my happiness, over my family, over my job. It all starts with good health. I put my health first, so I would never use "no time" as an excuse not to go to the gym. Basically, I insist on morning exercise every day, no matter how long it takes, I will stick to it, and the thunder will not move. If I didn't have a morning workout that day, I wouldn't have started working. Even if it's a landslide and the end of the world, I don't care, the world can wait for me for another 30 minutes until I finish my morning workout. ”

Now, Navarre's set of values has been adopted by me as my own values.

I often hear a friend ask: "Do you run 5 kilometers every morning, can your body stand it?" ”

All I can say about this question is that it varies from person to person.

For a person with a sports foundation, 5 kilometers is not a lot of running, and many professional runners warm up more than this distance.

But for us ordinary sports enthusiasts, the distance of 5 kilometers can fully meet the amount of exercise for the day.

On the contrary, if you don't have a foundation in sports, you can't run 5 kilometers a day as soon as you come up.

After all, everything has to be scientific and reasonable, and the body needs a time to adapt.

Not only morning jogging, but also other sports, scientific and reasonable, step-by-step, steady and steady, is the key to long-term sustainability.

This is the most energetic sentence I've heard since I started my morning jog.

Thank you for the encouragement of these two strange little girls, and thank you for persevering all the way.

I hope that everyone who insists on getting up early and running in the morning can enjoy all kinds of unexpected surprises brought by sports.

Come on!
