Talk about "Uduntauhai Town".

The town of Wuduntauhai was once subordinate to the Ao Han Banner, but during the Liberation War, as the Laoha River became the flag boundary between Weng Niute and Ao Han, this land was also included in the territory of the Weng Niu Special Banner. However, the name "Uduntauhai" is only the current name, and in history, there have been many names here, such as Barit Ulan Hada, Biqigt Ulan Hada, Wang Yin Haore, Kuqin Haore, etc., each name carries a specific historical background and reason behind it.

As early as more than 1,000 years ago, the Wuduntao Sea area was the nomadic land of ethnic minorities in northern China, such as Wuhuan, Xianbei, Khitan, etc. However, the real historical development had to begin in the middle of the sixteenth century. Genghis Khan's 18th grandson, Da Lai Sun Kuden Khan, led two 10,000 families of soldiers and civilians from Chahar and Haraha, and moved east to Cocodilisu, including the Ao Han tribe led by Daiqing Duleng. This tribe was nomadic on both sides of the Laoha River, and in 1627, the leader of the Ao Han tribe, Sonomu Duleng, and others attached to the Qing Dynasty, and the Qing court changed it to a banner, and Bandi became the first king of Zasak County.

After Bandi took office, he faced the threat of two tigers that frequently roamed the banks of the Laoha River, organized the banner people to round up and hunt them for seven days, and finally annihilated them at Hongyan Mountain. This incident has led people to call the mountain Barit Ulan Hada, which means Crouching Tiger Red Rock Peak. However, with the passage of time and the vicissitudes of history, the name of this place has also changed, and later it was also known as Biqigt Ulan Hada, engraved Red Rock Peak.

After the accession of Emperor Hongli (Qianlong) of the Qing Dynasty, he hunted in the Laoha River, but encountered rough water and could not cross the river. After Qianlong prayed on a red mountain, the river magically calmed down, and he continued to move forward and wrote the poem "Watching the Water of Aohan Waterfall" at Xiangshui Mountain. The mountain later became known as Biqigt Ulan Hada, engraved with the words Red Rock Peak.

After the Ao Han Department was attached to the Qing Dynasty, the banner was changed from the ministry, and the first king of Zasak County, Bandi, built the mansion at the foot of Guli Bantulega Mountain. After several successions, he was eventually succeeded by Darimahidi, but his young age and lack of political experience led to factional struggles within the royal palace. During a tour of the pasture, Darimahidi befriended a close friend named Lama Rangyimu, and with his help, he built a palace at the western foot of the Biqigt Ulan Hada Mountains and gradually consolidated his power. Later, because this place was built on the site of the old mansion, it was called Wang Yin Haore, that is, the royal palace.

However, later historical changes led to the name of the place Khuqin Haore, a change that stemmed from the "Red Hat" incident in 1891. After that, the leader of the Ao Han tribe, Damulin Dardak, established a new royal palace called Xi'e Haore, and then the lama king built the mansion on the original ruins and named it Kuqin Haore, that is, the old mansion. In 1937, the Japanese established a full-time school in the area, called Laofu National Primary School, which served their aggressive policy, but also started the development of local education.

In 1954, the general election of the village government was held in the Uduntau area, and the people's congress decided to change the name of the village to Uduntau and the district name to Uduntau Hai District, marking that the place entered a new stage of development. However, it was not until 1958 when the Hongshan Reservoir Project started that the place was named Hongshan, and the completion of the reservoir project not only changed the geographical appearance of the local area, but also brought great improvements to the lives of the people.

The successful completion of the Hongshan Reservoir project marks another milestone in the history of the Uduntau Sea region. This beautiful land has ushered in earth-shaking changes in today's reform and opening up, and the people of Uduntaohai have worked hard and moved forward bravely in the new year, hoping that the development of their hometown will be more prosperous.
