Dias' second-half goal in Liverpool's 4-1 win over Luton Town took him to 10 goals in all 34 appearances this season, meaning Loppe's side now have a formidable attacking combination that rivals any team in Europe.

The Colombian is the Reds' fifth player to score a double this season, while Mohamed Salah, Nunez, Jota and Gakpo have already achieved that achievement before him.

Despite having to play in the Africa Cup of Nations and subsequent injuries that saw Salah sideline for almost two months, he still scored 19 goals in 28 appearances this season and is well ahead of the Reds.

Jota has scored 14 goals after playing in the same number of games as the Egyptian star. However, the Portuguese striker suffered a serious knee injury in Saturday's win over Brentford and is expected to be out for a while.

Nunez settled in better with the team in his second season at Anfield. The Uruguayan has scored 13 goals in 37 appearances.

Dutch striker Gakpo's second-half header in the absence of Mohamed Salah, Jota and Nunez took his tally to 11 goals this season.

While Dias hasn't been in great form so far this year, now could be the perfect time for him and Gakpo to step up and show their worth to the team.

Head coach Jurgen Klopp may have had more options in attack at the start of the season, but with the Reds facing a four-tier battle this season, a lengthy injury list is now putting a heavy strain on the squad, and goals from Dias and Gakpo will certainly alleviate that pressure to some extent.
